Are We Going to Baylor?
Who could miss thai trip? Surely no true Jacket
supporter could afford not to see this big game. And
just think what cheap rates wc get on the train and it
will be special train just for Howard Payne. All of
your friends arc going and they arc expecting you to be
on that train too.
Did you happen to think that Dad Amis and his
Jackets arc depending on every student to be in his place
next Saturday in the Howard Payne section? It is too
big a battle for the team alone wc MUST do our pari!
The College Newspaper
The College Newspaper has a two-fold purpose for
its existence. First the main purpose is the develop-
ment of the students who arc interested in newspaper
woik. Second the reflection of the activities and lift
in the college which ii represents.
The Yellow Jacket will endeavor to fill both if
these purposes with the full co-operation of all the
student body and faculty. In the near future a large
staff will be chosen from the students to cover the vari-
ous departments of the student life. Each department
will have several special writers and assignments will he
made by the heads of the departments to report all items
of interest that happen on the campus. The writer of
every article write-up report etc. will be given credit
for their worn.

A severe and true test was given the Jacket sup
port last Friday at the Pirate-Jacket game and the final
deduction is that WE have the spirit to make our team
a Conference Championship team. The yells were uni-
form snappy and full of whole-hearted fight that help-
ed the team defeat the Pirates.
But let us remember that the good pep of one ganir
docs not win the remainder of the games and that pep
meetings must be given often and the attendance must
be I00' . The public was pleased with Friday's pep
the yell leaders were happy over the spirit and the stn
dent knew that they had done their part to make a Jack-
et Championship possible.
Now the problem that confronts us is ARE WE
GOING TO MAKE THE BAYLOR TRIP POSSIBLE?
It will be a trip worth while a good display of student
support and a chance to help the Jackets in one of tin
hardest games of the season so far. Let's get th

Looks Like Two Championships for
Brownwood
Wouldn't it be great if both colleges in brownwood
won a pennant this year. Howard Payne will do her
utmost to win the Texas Conference pennant and Daniel
Baker has a good shot at the T. I. A. A. pennant. Both
colleges haye strong teams and it is hoped that Brown-

lit would be greater if Brownwood High School could I
win the Interschlasttc League Pennant but at this time '
that seems irrtpossible. However the Yellow Jackets
are backing every Brownwood team to the limit and. I
winning or losing the Jackets are for you.
