Campus

Sunday

Students on campus
woke up early Sunday
morning to find their fans
radios and clocks
unoperational. At about 6
a.m. residents in the three
dormitories reported that
their electricity went com-
pletely off.
Power came on about
thirty minutes later. The
phones however continued
to be down until later that af-
ternoon. According to Assis-
tant Plant Director of
Howard Payne Plant Opera-
tions Rex Franks there was
an accident.
"A car hit a telephone
pole over on C.C. Woodson
Road" Franks said. "The
reason for the power outage
was our computers all had
to be reset and it took
awhile."
According to Jenni-
fer Jones freshman the
power outage was a
thought-provoking experi-
ence. "I stopped to realize
when my suitemate came
into my room flipping the
light switch on and off that
I was becoming annoyed at
the loss of power" Jones
said. "But then it hit me who
the real source of power is
and I smiled."
