report that he is doing well and
the doctors reported that he is
responding well to the medical
treatment he is receiving.

Celebrates
Birthday
Eric Mark Ortiz was honored
with a birthday party on his
first birthday by his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Chano Ortiz.
A cowboy theme was carried
out in the decorations. Helping
him celebrate were his
grandparents, aunts, uncles
and cousins. Cake, cookies,
candy and punch were served
after the pinata was broken.
A barbecue supper was
served to all the guests.
Relatives came from Edroy,
Portland, Corpus Christi and
Clute.
Mr. and Mrs. Chano Ortiz
adopted Eric when he was two
months old.

September 3.
The child has been named

Cherry of Corpus Christi. The
great-grandparents are Mr.
and Mrs. Jack Cherry Sr. of
Odem, Mr. and Mrs. Earl
