National Health Survey
It will be remembered that some
few months ago Jores County was
one of the seventeen counties in this
state to have an Educational Survey
taken in its school*.- These seven-
teen counties wjll also bo favored
with a national Health Survey and
accordingly a committee composed
of Dr. Elmer V. Eyman, Miss Mur-
dock, Miss Thomas and another
physician visited the schools, making
the health survey, at Corinth, New
Hope, Swenson and Pleasant Valley
the past week. Miss Luella Hauk,
county superintendent, accompanied
them to the school* above mentioned,
although her department ia not con-
nected with this work. The result*
of this survey will be presented to
the Legislature in January.'

expects
100 bales. With favorable weather
conditions from here out, it is possi-
ble for him to reach the 100 bales
mark, or nearly so.
This extra good yk-ld for this dry
unfavorable crop season, was grown *n“ snimvanee
on a little over 300 acres, on which
he had a good stand, having lost some
from hoppers.
Thtr good crop, in spite of the un-
favorable conditions is a result of
good farming. Mr. Alexander who ts
a good farmer, from Erath county,
where he still owns land in the oil
4>elt, first prepared his land with a
/good seed bed he planted only good
seed, he cetinted his crop five times
where necessary, thus keeping the
crop clean from all other vegetation,
and conserving the moisture, all of
which went to support his cotton
crop with the-splendid results stated.
His intensive cultivation and good
farming methods would have made
good on any ^nvi farming land in
