By Bro. Larry Holden]
Last Saturday at the Odem PTA
Spring Fest, our church had a
booth set up. We did not sell
anything, but gave everything
away.
Our youth did five puppet
performances during the day for
the children and curious adults.
Our youth did an excellent job in
ministering to those who
1 participated. They gave Jesus to
people.
I'm proud of them because that
is the greatest thing a person can
do -- give people an opportunity to
hear about Jesus, God's only
provision for man's sin and his
salvation.
I'm also proud of our many
men and women volunteers who
gave away bags of cookies. Our
ladies made 138 dozen cookies.
They gave away pens and gospel
tracts that tell people how to
receive God's only provision for
salvation — Jesus — and how to
grow in the Christian life.
Our church family volunteers
were out in the sun all day and of
course went home with sun-
burned faces. It was a good day for
us'; and we are all proud of the
president of the PTA, Sharon
Doria, for doing an excellent job in
her leadership in a very
successful 1995 Spring Fest.
Our Sunday School and
worship services on Palm Sunday
were well attended. We had a
joyous day. On Sunday evening we
licensed Chuck Smith, one of our
deacons, to preach the Gospel. He
preached a very thought-provoking
and encouraging message. We
almost had a full house in
attendance. We had a reception
honoring Bro. Chuck and his
family after the service. We love
and are proud of the Smith family.
Tony Doria and I will take 13
young men to the Alto Frio Pre
Easter Retreat Thursday through
Saturday. It will be a good
experience, Spiritually uplifting,
challenging and fun!
This Tuesday will be our
community "Keenagers 55
&Better" meal and Domino
Fellowship at 6:30 p.m.
Sunday is Easter. Remember
that Jesus died for you because He
loves you. Think about having a
personal relationship with Him.
He cares! We care, too! Come be
with us if you don't have a church
family.

Libraries in Sinton Tuesday. The computers will be available at both libraries for public use on a
first-come, first-served bas^s. The computers are AST 286 and 2 megabytes RAM 40 megabytes
hard drive and 5 and one-quarter inch floppy discs. Shown are, left to right, Pat Voss, Odem
Librarian, Thomas J. Heilman, regional and community relations leader for Koch, Ruth Payne,
president of the Odem Library Board and Yolanda Bustamante, Sinton Librarian.
Della Mae Baylor Public Library
was the recipient of a welcome
new addition to the facility. Koch
Industries Inc. donated two
computers to both Odem and
Sinton public libraries on Tuesday,
April 11, at Sinton Public Library.
Anyone with a basic knowledge
of computer operations and
needing to type a resume,
research paper or report will be
able to try their hand at the
computer. Programs available for
use at this time are Mavis Teaches
Typing, Print Shop and Oregon Trail.
Others will be added later.
Odem librarian Pat Voss hopes
to have the system running and
available for public use soon. She
does add, however that any
computer experts wishing to
volunteer some time would be
welcome in helping her get the
system set up quickly for children
and others to use.
For those who prefer to read,
Voss only had to clear space on
the shelves for one new book last
week, Fugitive Moon by Ron
Faust. One critic described the
book as "sad, funny,
exasperating, endearing.'' So, find
the shade of a tree, delve into this
latest literary work and see if you
agree.
