The Eagle Varsity Track
Team earned 83 points In
Brownwood at the District
track meet last Thursday,
which was good enough for
third place behind Bongs
(1st) and Early (2nd).
KennySaathoff placed 3rd
in the high jump division.
The Eagle Sprint Relay
team (Tony Corona. Steve
Coronado, Mike Connally,
Jett Johnson) placed second.
The clock showed the 440
yard relay at 45 seconds flat,
which was the season beat.
The 120 high hurdles
proved to be 1st and 2nd for
the Eagles. Kenny Saathoff
ran a 15.90 and Steven
Schwarts ran a 16.00 flat,
which was their beat time of
the season also.
Mike Connally ran 4th in
the 100 yard dash with a time
of 10.1.
Jett Johnson and Steve
Corondao ran the 440 yard
dash; Jett placed 2nd and
Steve placed 4th. Jett ran a
52 flat, which was his best
time also this season.
Kenny and Steven ran the
330 yard intermediate
hurdles with Kenny placing
sixth.
Albert Duran ran the mile
in 5 minutes and 10 seconds,
which is a very good time for
a freshman athlete.
The Mile Relay proved to
be the mast exciting event of
the evening. Bangs won the
event with a time of 3:32.2.
The Eagle mile relay team
(Kenny Saathoff, Mike.Con
nally. Steve Coronado, and
Jett Johnson) placed 2nd in
the event with a time of
3:36.0 which was another
season best.
The Varsity Track Tesm
did not consist of many
people, but the people we
had did a fine job this whole
year.
The Regional Track Meet
will be held in Stephenville
April 27-28, this Friday and
Saturday.

The Junior Varsity Track
Team also competed well at
District, scoring 48 points for
fourth place.
Bart McFarland placed 3rd
in the long jump event.
Gary Mulling* placed 3rd
in the discus.
Psul Banks placed Sth in
the 880 yard dash
Coy Hammond placed 3rd
in the 120 high hurdles and
Ricky Johnson placed 6th in
120 high hurdles and in the
440 yard dash
Coy Hammonds placed 4th
in the 330 intermediate
hurdles.
Bart McFarland placed
first in the 220 yard dash
with a time of 25.15.
The 440 yard relay team
placed 4th, and the mile
relay placed 5th.
The Eagle Junior High
team met stiff competition in
District 10-A, but we were
proud of the way they
competed in each and every
event.
