Central Center Adds
Training Via
Satellite
Data Systems Division's Northwest Village location is now
equipped with a satellite training system that allows on-site
viewing of various television courses about computer use.
The system's initial courses were conducted recently via
the IBM Field Television Network, which carries computer
training programs with no viewer charge. Several
companies and universities offer similar instruction by
television, according to Stewart Eames, the Central Center
network design engineer who was project manager for the
new system.
The system can receive two different programs
simultaneously, and monitors are located in seven different
classrooms at the Northwest center.
Information on instructional programming through the
system is available from the Central Center
training staff, ext. 23206.
