Slaying of U. S.
Engineer Reported
WASHINGTON. Aug. 28.— ^) —
The slaying of Henry O. Schmidt,
an American mining engineer, by
two persons at Travedor mine. Trin-
idad. Durango was reported to the
state department today by Ameri-
can Consul Jackson at Tocreon,
Mexico.
Consul Jackson telegraphed that
General Escobqg, in charge of the
military district had promised to
