column contest for The Index
will win a $50 gift certificate
good at any Ingleside mer
chant.
The contest rules are simple
Entrants must be 18 years of
age or over. Entries must be
postmarked no later than mid
night, Friday. Feb 20 and
should be mailed to The Index,
P.O. Drawer 550, Ingleside,
Texas 78362 Entries will be ac-
cepted in The Index office up
until 5 pm on Friday, Feb-
ruary 26
All entries must be in writing
and bear the name, phone num-
ber and address of the person
making the column name entry
The decision will be final and
subject to the approval of the
publisher of The Index

Homemakers Club met last
Thursday Feb 4 in the home of
Mrs. E P Hester on Fourth
Street with Mrs. M l). Nickey,
president, presiding Roll call
was answered by each member
with their favorite “Commer
cial Mix." Mrs. M.J. Gallion
was introduced as a guest.
Mrs Kaye Woodward, county
extension agent of Home
Economics presented the pro-
gram on "Make Your Own
Mix." She explained that mixes
created from ingredients from
home pantries are more
nutritious and economical than
commercial mixes.

ried out on the serving table

games during the recreation
period
The next meeting will be held
March 4 in the home of Mrs,

Ingleside Fire
department meets
The Ingleside Fire Depart-
ment held their annual business
meeting on Tuesday, Jan 26 at
which time new officers for the
coming year were elected.
Her Tiner will serve as presi
dent; Maurice Roundtree as
vice president; Kathy McGraw
as secretary; Lucy Patrick as
treasurer.
Jim Wright was re-elected,
unanimously as fire chief Rudy
Barron will served as first
assistant fire chief and Eloy
Naranjo will act as second vice
president.
The Ingleside fire department
meets each Tuesday evening at
the fire station at 7:30 p.m.
Anyone interested in attending
the meetings or joining the lire
department is invited to come
to the meetings.
