And then the years rolled past my
vision
Till fifty had come Into view,
I cried then from wonderful gladness
For all of my dream had come true!
Ten thousands women were singing
O’er mountain and valley and sea.
“We are taking the world for our
Master
And this'is our glad Jubilee.”
The year of 1928 was of vital im-
portance and Interest to the women
of Southern Methodism for it was
our Jubilee year. The Council
meeting at Nashville last spring,
all the conferences and district as-
semblies echoed the same golden
song of praise and achievement for
what had been accomplished in the
last fifty years. The Ferris Auxil-
iary has had a small part in all this
great program, for our history
dates back to thirty two years in
our local church. What a happy
prlviledge Is ours to close the past
fifty years work and also help lay
the foundation for the fifty years
to come. "Somebody will be writ-
ing the history o? the conference
officers, district secretaries and
auxtlltary officers and members that
were pioneers of 1929, in the hun-
dredth year of our Women's work."
Let’s be careful bow we do our work
tKls year.
All the meetings for January havs
been interesting and the attendance
good. Even the first Monday busi-
ness meeting held a thrill of ex-
pectation just to see how the new
officers would preside, and if our
names were written on the program
in the near year book.
The second Monday letters were
written friends, strangers and shut-
ins who are deprived form attending
Sunday School, church and the
weekly meetings of the society.
The Bible Study class meets on
the third Monday. Bro. Oglaeby Is
leader and the text la 'The Message
of Jesus."
On the fourth Monday, the pro-
gram in the year book is presented
and special emphasis given to the
social life of the society. At the
January meeting the pledge cards
are signed, and the amount decided
upon for the coming year. The di-
rected pledge features some speci-
fic work; the undirected pledge goes
into the general fund and help carry
on the Women’s work in all its va-
rious departments. For several
years, the Ferris Auxilliary has sup-
ported a Korean Scholarship. As
every foreign pupil must be given
an American name we call our Ko-
rean girl Sarah Ann Enochs, honor-
ing a pioneer member of the society
Remember that ’’Love ever gives,
forgives—outlives. And even stands
with open hands, and whlla It lives,
IT GIVES. For this Is iovs a per-

give.* '
The hostesses for the social mast-
ing were Mesdames Fred Wester,
