The novel approach of the
Narrative Theatre, made up of
Selma Burnett Snyder and Is-
rael Welichansky, to the prob-
lem of interpreting the Yiddish
Theatre to audiences made up
in part by those who do not
speak Yiddish received an en-
thusiastic welcome by the
crowd which attended this
second attraction of the Center
Cultural Series on Wednesday,
December 1st.
Portraying his roles with el-
oquence and a graphic ap-
proach which made the trans-
lation scenes by Miss Snyder
more meaningful, Mr. Weli-
chansky delivered excerpts
from the best of Jewish Thea-
tre art.
The next attraction of the
series will be Erika Mann on
Wednesday, January 12th, at
8 p. m., at the San Jacinto
High School auditorium.
As it is the chief concern of
wise men to retrench the evils
of life by the reasonings of
philosophy, it is the employ-

by the sentiments of supersti-
tion.—Addison.
