Hitler Again Boastful Repledges
Extermination Of European Jewry
London (JPS) — Repeating a pledge to the German people which
may well be fulfilled, notwithstanding the fate of all his other promises
Adolf Hitler marked the 23 anniversary of the founding of the Nazi
party by vowing to exterminate European Jewry. Railing again and
again at the Jews in the course of a brief proclamation read in
Hitler’s absence by Hermann Esscr, Secretary of State in the German
Propaganda Ministry, he spoke of the “horrible disillusionment
which faces world Jewry.
“The German Army,” his pronouncement read, “as it has done
since the beginning of the war, has fought excellently this winter
and is engaged in a fierce struggle

against a world peril conspired by
the banking houses of New York
and London, together with Jews
in Moscow.”
Referring to the thesis of Naz-
ism, he said, “These thesis took
possession of the whole German
people and mqde it so strong that
it today is capable not only of
calling a halt to Jewish world
perils, but also of smashing it in
the end.”
He went on, “We shall break
and smash the might of the Jew-
ish world coalition and mankind,
struggling for its freedom; will
win final victory in this struggle.”
Again, “This struggle will not
end as our enemies plan, with the
annihilation of the Aryan part of
humanity, but with the extinction
of Jewry in Europe.”

the war they provoked,” he said,
“the realization of the criminal
and accursed activity of Jewry

MEYER LEVIN DIED TO
SAVE HIS BUDDIES
COMRADES REPORTS
New York (JPS) — On a vol-
unteer mission which he had
undertaken because of his ex-
pertness ih identifying enemy
ships, Master Sergeant Meyer
Levin died, as he had lived, a
hero, according to the stories of
the survivors reported by the
United Press. Levin, who had
been off combat duty for several
weeks, was not a regular member
of the Fortress crew which was
forced to make a forced landing
when the fuel supply ran out.
Last seen loosening the safety
catches of a life raft for his com-
panions to escape, the Brooklyn
bombardier is believed to have
been knocked unconscious when
the plane struck the waves.
A resolution of sympathy to
Levin’s parents from the New
York State Legislature read, “His

Ludwig Lewisohn, an outstand-
ing figure in the literary world,
will speak at a meeting sponsored
by the Houston Zionist District
and the Houston Chapter of Ha-
dassah at the San Jacinto Audi-
torium, Sunday, March 7th, at 8
p. m. Mr. Lewisohn has spoken
before audiences in Houston in
the past and has left an indelible
impression upon his listeners.
The primary aim of "the Zionist
Organization of America and the
Hadassah is to assist in the es-
tablishment of a homeland in
Palestine for the »dispossessed
Jews of Europe. In furtherance
of this aim, the two local chapters
of these organizations have given
valient service in making possible
the building of Palestine so that
it will be a strong bastion for
help to the United Nations in the
Middle East.

London (JPS) — In response to
a plea by a delegation of British
leaders, including the Archbishop
of Canterbury and Cardina^Hin-
sley. Catholic dignitary, that
2,000 visas be granted for Jew-
ish children who can be rescued
from Europe, Home Secretary
Herbert Morrison declared that

relatives here can be brought to

URGES AMERICAN
NEWS EDITORS TO
PRESS FOR AID TO JEWS
New )Jork (JPS) — American
editors and organizations are urg-
ed to bring pressure on Wash-
ington to expedite action on be-
half of the European Jews who
can still be saved, In an editorial
appearing in The Nation, liberal
weekly.
The Jews of occupied Europe
could do with a little less pity
and a little more help, the maga-
zine, edited by Miss Freda Kirch-
wey, declares. “We are tired of
statements from Washington and
London deploring the mass, mur-
der of the Jews by Hitler, and
declaring that the moral con-
science of the world is shocked
thereby. The truth is that the
moral conscience of the American
and British governments, always
flexible, is not so* much shocked
as blunted. For when definite
measures are proposed to help
the victims of these horrors, the
State Department and the British
Foreign Office, though ever so
politely, turn away.”
In referring to the project for
emigrating Rumanian Jews to
Palestine, the magazine asks: “Has
the State Department followed
this up with the Vatican? Is the
British Foreign Office willing to
let these poor folk join others of
their people in Palestine? The
answer, of course, is no, but that
need not remain the answer if
American editors and organiza-
tions bring pressure on Washing-
ton for action."

has long been vocal in his espou-
