Oelschlegel Radio
Reporter For Football
Reserved Tickets On
Sale For Final Games
Reserved seat tickets for the
final two home games are still
available and on sale at the
high school office. Price is
$2.00, standard cost at district
games.
The remaining home games
are expected to provide some
of the season’s finest football,
with the high flying Refugio
Bobcats, and the Taft
Greyhounds providing the
Owl’s opposition.
Also the Oct. 26 game with
Refugio will be Homecoming.
The Taft game closes out the
season, and will be playued
Nov. 6. All district games begin
at 8 p.m.
Nancy Oelschlegel (“Nancy
O”) will be giving reports
about the Owls on KRYS,
Corpus Christi, each Friday
night during the football
season.
From 7 p.m. until midnight
every Friday, during the fod
Tucker show KRYS, 1360,
broadcasts up-to-date reports
of football games involving
area high schools, and Nancy
will report on the Owl games.
The program, known as the
KRYS High School Football
Report, enjoys a large
following of sports fans, and
Nancy’s report on the Owl
contests are eagerly awaited
by Odem fans unable to attend
the games.

Wood For
Homecoming
Members of the Senior Class
at Odem High are gathering
wood for the Homecoming
Bonfire prior to the Refugio
game. Any donations will be
greatly appreciated.

The Spanish Club met Sept.
21, the first session of the 1979-
80 school year, and selected a
new name, as well as electing
officers.
The club will be known as
“Los Jovenes”, and officers
are: Dede Grozier, president;
Maria Ortiz, vice-president;
Nora Sanchez, secretary-
treasurer; and Gracie Ortiz,
reporter.

4-H Club
Meets
The Odem 4-H Club rriet
Tuesday Oct. 9, at 7:30 p.m.
and selected a project for 4-H
Week.
Club members will make a
“Welcome To Odem” sign as
their project.
It was also announced that
calendar sales are going well,
but that there are still many
available for sale. All orders
must be in by November 1.
The local 4-H Chapter
extends a cordial welcome to
anyone wanting to become a
member. Meetings are held on
the second Tuesday of each
month.

service to others.

such service, the Salvation
