A Gift Tea
Saturday Honored
Margaret Ann Ivy
Margaret Ann Ivy, bride-elect
of Don Alvin Tolar, was com-
plimented with a gift tea at the
home of Mrs. Watt Newman on
North Mount Street Saturday
afternoon. Guests were greeted
by Mrs. Newman, Mrs. Travis
Stripling and Miss Charlsie
Looney.
The honoree, her mother,
Mrs. Grady Ivy, and Mrs. Bar-
ney Tolar, of Rusk, sister-in-
law of the bridegroom-to-be,
formed the receiving line.
Millicent Sneed presided at
the registry the first hour and
was followed by Mrs. A. I’. Par-
rish Jr., of Palestine.
Glenda Berryhill of Corsicana,
Mrs. Don Emmons, Shirley
Jones, QJenna Hodges of Cool-
idge, Mrs. Robert Spencer of
Coolidge and Nelda Doyle of
Frost alternated at the serving
table.
Mrs. Doris Fullerton played
piano selections during the re-
ception hours from four to six
o’clock.
The table was laid with a
cloth of white nylon tulle
over white organdy, centered
with a beautiful arrangement of
white, pink and blue carnations
and pink pom poms in an anti-
que cut glass compote.
Iced punch, cake squares and
dainty sandwiches were served.
Directing guests in the rooms
where many beautiful and use-
ful gifts were exhibited were
Betty Lou Jones, Mary Kather-
ine Kitchens, Mary Jane An-
derson, Mrs. Vernon Carpenter,
Mrs. Terry Sartor of Teague,
Mrs. Warren Await of Austin
and Emma Jean Ivy, sister of
the bride-to-be.

Party In Mexic
For John L. Bonner
On Fifth Birthday
John Leslie Bonner, son of
Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Bonner of
Mexia was honored on his fifth
birthday with a party Saturday,
Aug. 15, in his home.
The guests were served fun-
ny face cupcakes, ice cream and
punch.
The birthday cake was white
decorated with animal cookies
and five candle in the center.

ton, Mark, Fred and David Pro-
well, Patti McDonald, Judy and

Party Recently
Mrs. Floris Schick, the former
Miss Margaret Reichelt of Bre-
mer Haven, Germany, was com-
plimented with a miscellaneous
shower in the education build-
ing at the Methodist church
last week.
Receiving guests were Mrs.
Schick, Mrs. Josephine Schick,
mother-in-law of the honoree,
and Mrs. Tom Ross Lindley.
Guests were .registered by
Belle Bentley of Palestine and
Michelle Lindley.
The serving table, laid in
white, was centered with an
attractive arrangement of red
and white carnations and green
caladiums. Dainty cookies and
