THE R. A. PITTMANS
We had a wonderful evening
d dinner) along with the R.
. Pittmans in the home of the
H. C. Taliaferros on Stemmons
Expressway near the Denton
State School.
After living alone longer than
he or his family wanted him to,
Raymond Pittman found a
beautiful and cultured lady in
ort Worth whose name was
rs. Nora Harris. He set his
mind and heart on changing
that to Pittman and finally suc-
ceeded. She is now Nora Pitt-
man, and quite happy about it.
There were three happy
couples there that evening: the
Pittmans, the Taliaferros and
another couple.
Lonely
The men recounted their ex-
periences in their efforts to
overcome loneliness. Much of it
was humorous and at times it
sounded like a hilarious party of
youngsters—when as a matter
of fact they were only “young
at heart.”
As one would expect, the talk
was mostly about the members
of the three fine families.
We knew about the Taliafer-
;p boys: Myron and Richard
d their families; and we ask-
rA about the Pittman girls, all
known and admired by us.

his business to Richard about
five years ago.

GLASOWS GLOOMBUSTERS
The size of your shoes has
very little to do with your abil-
ity to get them into your mouth.
Nowadays the person with
his ear to the ground may be
looking for his contact lenses.
It begins to look like we are
in the same boat, and it’s the
Titanic!
Most lawsuits are loss suits.
Arnold Glasow, Freeport, III.
“It would probably help if the
colleges would try working their
way through the students.”

THE SCREWWORM LOBBY
Congressman Walter Rogers
of Pampa, writes:
Many people complain about
the Federal government getting
into everything, except their
own pet project. Here is part of
a communication I received
the other day: “I am against
Uncle Sam playing big brother.
But, no Texan, Jural or urban,
can fail to approve Federal ap-
propriations for the eradication
of the screwworm.”
2000 IN ENGLAND
“C. R. Lowe of Birmingham.
England, reported on a study
of 2,000 women who smoked
during pregnancy. (British
Medical Journal, Oct. 10, 1959.)
He found that they have small-
er babies than do non-smokers,
the difference averaging six
ounces. This might make for
a little easier delivery; but does
a woman want to get it that
way?” They are poisoning their
babies.
