COUNTY ELECTION.
FIXTTORIAL. SITUATION.
The 106kh flotorid district is
composed of Oooke, Deaton, Tor-
rent end Wise counties end the
flotorud representative is pre-
sumed to he taken in rotation
from the different counties in the
district It is only a custom but
a iust one and practically to the
interest of the district to uphold.
Cooke county bas not been very
insistent on this matter in tbe
past and tbe result is that we
have not bad a candidate for
floater elected in past ten years.
Denton county’s present candi-
date was elected as tiotorial rep-
resentative in 1900 Tarrant
county furnished the next floater
in 1902 and Wise county in 1904
and in all fairness and equity
Co >ke county is entitled to the
preference in 1900.
Tarrant county is this year
asking for support of candidates
for -governor, railroad commis-
sion, congress and state senator,
and now that a candidate for
ti.>ater lias also appeared from
that county it would seem that
I Tarrant county wants every-
i thing in sight, politically speak-
ing, in grand old Texas.

of the severest type. Always
after any over exertion or a hard
day's work it would become so
lame and sore that I could not
get about at all. I could sit still
but a short time when the pain
became almost unbearable- In
the morning when I got up 1 felt
lame and sore and had to make
quite an effort io dress myself.
As if bac ache was not enough
to worry and torture a man,
there was added trouble with
the kidney secretions. They
were at times thick and murky
and accompanied by a scalding
and burning pain. The numerous
remedies I tried and physicians’
treatment failed to give me re-
lief. Finally Doan’s Kidney Pills
were brought to my notice and I
went to the H. W. StaJk Drug
Co's store for a box last Jan-
uary. although I could scarcely
get about- Had the first box not
brought about the result prom
ised I never could have been in-
duced to get the second, nor
third. My backache is gone, the
secretions from the kidneys be-
came normal anr) I could rest
with comfort. Doan's Kidney
Pills did me more good than any-
thing else I ever used. One of
my neighbors who used them
told me be did not believe be
would be living today had it not
been for this medicine.”

"Makes It Go Away”
We simply can’t do without it. We
are not going to try. When Bobby
stubs his toe, it’s “Ma, where’s the

been playing with a bumble bee, it’s
“Where’s the Lightning Oil?” The
echo of all our afflictions is “Where’s

that makes the pain go way. Sincerely

Festival Will be a Success aa
Assnred Fact
On Monday, April 30th. the Fire-
men's Festival will commence. Gaines
vjlle is already on the qui vive waiting
for the time for the Carnival, which is
to be the greatest without ezeeption
we have ever had, and will turn the
city into jollity and good fellowship
for the time being. The Gaskill shows
have many splendid attractions, each
and every one of sterling merit, worth
the small price of admission. The
first thing that will attract the eye ol
the visitor will be the magnificent
palace fronts of massive appearance,
all gold, silver, mirrors and beautiful
descriptive oil portraits. Under the
canopied tops Mr. Gaskill h?s gotten
many meritorious features and clever
peop'e, who will vie with each other in
pleasing the audience. The selection
of proper amusements for the entertain-
ment of the public is a difficult problem
even for so experienced a manager as
Mr. W. C, Gaikill. The up-to-date
caterer for public patronage must ever
keep an alert eye on the people, must
sound the popular feeling in order to
place before them those exhibitions
that will please, and iu so doing pul
his shows on a higher plane than those
of his competitors.
The visitor finds it hard to con-
ceive how Manager Gaskill ever
gathered together so many mer-
itorious acts and clever per-
formers as he has this season, amusing,
bigh-chss and refined, and with an
air of respectability about them that
one often finds lacking in other aggre-
gations. The fame of the two leading
attractions is world wide—Fighting the
Flames and Gaskill's Wild Beast Jun-
gle —it being the concensus of public
opinion that they are the two largest
and most interesting shows ever ex
hibited in the carnival business. The
other ten big entertainments are in
perfect keeping, in character, size and
merit, with the two mentioned and will
add to the pleasure and amazement of
the crowds in attendance, bent on
having all the fun and good time pos-
sible to be gotten out of the six days
festivities. The merchants and busi-
ness men of Gainesville will try to
make it pleasant for their out of town
friends who come to enjoy themselves
and every one will receive a hearty
welcome to the fete.
