The double-ring ceremony was
read by the bridegroom's father.
Baskets of gladiolus, backed by
royal blue drapes, were used for
decoration. M. J. Cunningham of
Dallas sang "I Love You Truly,”
"Because,” "Bridal Chorus” and
“Be With Me Lord.”
The bride, given in marriage by
her brother, Allen F. Roy, wore a
gown ol lace and nylon over taf-
feta fashioned with a round neck-
line. Her shoulder-length veil was
of French illusion. Miss Sarsh Roy
Oliver Hazelton, cousin "of"the
groom was best man. Following
the wedding ceremony, a reception

For traveling the bride wore a
white linen suit with white acces-
sories and a corsage of red carna-
tions. The groom Is a graduate of
Gunter High School and Austin
College. He is, a missionary to Gerf
many for the 17th and N. Church
of Christ. The couple will make
their home in Germany.

The Truth Seekers Sunday
School class qf the First Baptist
church in Jean met in the home of
Mrs G. C. Glover on Thursday
night. July 14. with Mrs. Lorene
Glover as co-hostess foy their reg-
ular business meeting.
Mrs. Graves Howard, vice presi-
dent, took charge in the absence
of Mrs. Bessie Sims, president.
Opening prayVr was given by
Mrs. Andrew Moore and Mrs. G. C.
Glover gave the devotional taken
from Psalm 1—1. Group captains
gave their reports and all neces-
sary business was taken-care of.
The meeting closed with prayer
led by Mrs. W. T. Edgar. Mrs.
Graves Howard and Mrs. G. C.
Glover led some Bible games.
Refreshments of Coco-Cola and
cookies were served by the host

Couple Honored
With Shower
Miss Myrtle Hawkins was host-
ess for a miscellaneous shower at
her home In Loving, honoring Miss
Patsy Whitt and Mr. Billy Atwood
on Tuesday night, July 12.
The guests assembled in the
back yard where various games
were played with each prize being
presented to the honorecs, one of
which was a rolling pin that each
guest autographed.
Many lovely and useful gifts
were presented to the couple.
Refreshments of sandwiches,
cake square*, and cold drinks were
served from a table wijh a white
clot!) having a blue ribbon around
It bearing the word* "Patsy and
Btliy." Smaller ribbons were used
as favors.

CELEBRATE FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY
Mr. and Mrs. George E. Boyle
celebrated their golden wedding
anniversary at their home Sunday,
July 17. They were honored with
open house by. their children from
2 to 9 p.m.
Their eight children and their
families were house guests for the
week end. Sixteen grandchildren
were present. *
Many gifts carrying out the
theme in gold were presented by
friends to the honorees. A console
TV and an anniversary clock were
presented by their children.
The table was covered with a
gold cloth over-laid with lace. The
center piece was.4 beautiful three-
tiered cake decked with golden
bells. The cake was hacked with
an arrangement of golden mums
Refreshments of gold colored
punch and cake were served to
all guests.

circus dance from 8.30 tn midnight
Saturday in the American Legion

_ Mr. George E. Boyle came to
Young County Dec. 27, 1904 with
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. C.
Boyle. A year later, he brought
his bride, Olive Agnes Humphreys,
the daughter of the late Judge
George W. Humphreys. of Cle-
burne. Texas.
They have resided in Young
County since their marriage. Teh
children were born to Mr. and
Mrs. Geofge Boyle, eight of whom
are still living, George C. Boyle
and Staff Sgt. Larice L. Boyle be-
ing deceased.

The WS.CS. of the Fir»t Meth-
odist Church met Monday at 9:30
a m at the church with the presi-
dent, Mrs. B. L. Kirtley, Jr, pre-
siding. After a moment of silent
prayer, Mrs. Kirtley closed with a
prayer for peace.
