Stone and Elizabeth and Grace, of
Cooper, Raford Hoskison and Roger
and Lynn Stone, of Paris.
Phillip visited Louie and Wanda
Goetz during the weekend Allie
visited Lucille during the week and
weekend.
Allie called and let us know that
Hollis Slakey had passed away
Saturday. We need to remember the
Slakey family in our prayers.
Anna Crowhurst returned home to
South Carolina on Friday after the
two-week visit with the Foster Family.
Pearl said they got a lot of sewing
done during the last week of Anna’s
stay. Now we know why it rained so
hard on Sunday. They really did sew
up a storm.
Pearl said that George had 4 and
2/10th’s of rain in his rain gauge
Sunday. Everyone I talked to reported
from 3 and 8/10 to 4 and 3/10 of an
inch.
Sene and Cindy Foster celebrated
their 17th wedding anniversary on
Saturday.
Knob Chapman and Jerry and Faye
Robnett were visitors in the home of
Estil Robnett during the week and
weekend.
Michael Robnett visited his
parents, Jerry and Faye Robnett
during the weekend.
Herschel and Bennie Wheat spent
Thursday night with his parents,
Sammy and Mabel Wheat. The
family went to eat at Mable’s favorite
eating place, Catfish King, of course.
Visiting with Ruth Little during the
week and weekend were Nelda
Winnie, of Enloe, Mikah Basham, of
Cooper, Kay Ingram and Lindsay,
Ashley and Kristi.
Visiting in the home of Oleta
Hooten were Danny and Ellen
Hooten, of Greenville, Travis George
and Mary Wicks.
Visiting Faye Berry during the
week were Mildred Bruce, of
Campbell, and Teresa Thompson.
Faye has been having some trouble
with her Parkinson’s so we really need
to remember her in our prayers. Faye
loves to have visitors so if you have a
few minutes stop and visit her a spell.
Faye is a very sweet person.
Neff and Nooma McBride,
Maurine Ellis, David and Kay
McBride, and Preston and Melveme
Ozment all made a trip to Plano on
the 24th of October to attend the
wedding of Kelly McBride and Chris
Hill.
Visiting in the McBride home on
the weekend were Melvem Ozment,
Tracy, Abbey, and Macy McQuery,
Norris and Donna Kerbow.
Jimmy and Trisha Blundell hosted
a stew/baby shower for Jerry and
Rebecca Anderson on Saturday.
Rebecca is Jim and Trisha’s daughter.
The Anderson’s are from
Weatherford. The tum-out was great
and so was the stew. Attending the

Brumley, of Picton, Raymond and
Linda Spencer, of Clarksville,
Rhonda Burchinal and Kandace, Kaci

Raymond and Linda Spencer with
to announce the arrival of a new
grandddaughter. She was born on
October 28, to Calvin and Lara
Spencer in Lincolntown, GA. Her
name is Emmalia Alexis. She
weighed 7 lbs 1 oz. Emmalia is the
great-granddaughter of the late
Frances Blundell.

Mr. and Mrs. Cletus Bridges, of
Dallas, brought dinner and visited
with Avis Whitlock Sunday
afternoon. Other visitors were Rev.
Stacey Smith, of Quinlan, and Carol
McChesnee and Ruby Larkin.
Betty’Byrd went to Dallas to get
his mother out of Parkland Hospital
Monday. Helen Meeley is slaying a
few days with her sister in Dallas.
Ann Green visited with Patsy
Byrd Tuesday evening.
Denny Frank Cauthen, Sr. passed
away Friday, October 30th. He lived
in Pleasant Grove. Funeral services
were held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at
Delta Funeral Home Chapel. Our
sympathy goes out to his family, son
Denny Frank Cauthen, Jr., and
daughter, Susie and family, and his
wife.
Lois York has moved back to
Enloe in Thelma Young’s mobile
home Thursday.
Mary Vel House met Eddie and
Ann Sullivan, of Florida in Cancun,
Mexico for a week vacation. Peggy
'c'arsille, o'f ^aris, stayed with Rae
Davis while Mary was gone.
A large crowd attended the
hayride and wiener roast held at the
Enloe Community Center Saturday
night to celebrate Halloween.
Mary House and daughter, Carol
McChesnee both had birthdays last
week. Birthday greetings to both of
you.
Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Brannon, of
Sulphur Springs, came to visit Avis
Whitlock with baskets of good food
Saturday.
Ron Regan from Terrell had
breakfast with Bill and Joyce Taylor
in Paris Friday morning.
Mike and Shonda King, Donna
and Cody King, and Mary Young
went out to eat in Paris Sunday.
Mary Young helped at the
Halloween Carnival at Cooper
Elementary School Saturday.
There has been a change in plans
for the Enloe Methodist Church
Lord’s Acre. It has been decided to
have it in the Methodist Fellowship
Hall where it has always been held.
They start serving a stew at 5:00
p.m. Afterwards an auction will be
held. Everyone plan to attend.
Virgie Ruthart visited with Jennie
Mae and Vonnie Hannabas
Saturday.
Don Young, D.D., Linda and
Jordan went to Paris Masonic Lodge
Friday night for a supper and
inspection.
Barbara Lynn Mason, of Dallas,
visited Saturday with Melba Jones.
A large crowd attended the bridal
shower Sunday fro Regan Heath, Jr.
and Angela Schmitt at the Enloe
Methodist Fellowship hall.
Birthday greetings to Aunt Judy
B. (Story) Jones who will be 95 years
old November 5th. She lives with
her daughter, Voncil, in New
Orleans, Louisiana. Her other
daughter, Patricia Clack, lives in
Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Aunt Judy
B. is formerly of Enloe and married
the late Reuben Jones, of Mt. Joy.
Rev. Linwood Peterson (farmer)
Enloe Baptist Church minister and
wife, Mary Margaret Peterson, of
Virginia, visited Rae Davis last
week. They lived in the Mosely
house when they were here.
Gaylon Maddox and Royce
Slough will present the musical
program for the Enloe Methodist
Church’s Lord’s Acre Saturday,
November 7th in the church
fellowship hall.
For those who would like to
know, Enloe had 3 2/10 inches of
rain Sunday, November 1st
according to Don Young’s rain
gauge.

Dean and Donna Houchins and
Deana (Houchins) and Chad White
were seen at a famous Delta County
eating place Friday evening before the
football game. Deana said that she
had just ridden in Old Fred’s cart.
Dean was out working Old Fred to the
cart early Saturday morning. He was
on 895 headed east the last time we
saw him.
F.L. Cooper attended the United
Pentecostal Church’s picnic at the
Cooper Park Friday afternoon. He was
at the East Delta hot dog and
hamburger supper Saturday evening.
Mr. Swenson was at the community
center Saturday afternoon. Mrs.
Swenson is just about the same. We
love and miss those two. May they
soon be well.
Scotty Ingram spent the weekend
in Charleston and attended the
Halloween cook out at the Community
Center. We are always happy to have
him. He is kin to most of us.
Anna and Herbert Belz spend last
weekend in Dallas visiting their
children.
Jason Ingram got kicked by a horse
Friday night. I heard that he had a
bloody nose.
There was a large crowd for the
hamburger/hot-dog cook out at the
East Delta Community Center
Saturday evening, with lots of little
spooks running around. There was a
little skunk with Helen and Cloyce
Anderson. There were two little
Draculas with the Stewarts, and a little
tiger with Dean and Donna Houchins.
Elaine Layer had a little Ninja with
her. Most of the little ones I didn’t
know. I heard that Mike Griffing was
responsible for getting it all together.
She and all the other workers did a
great job.
Twenty four of Elwood George’s
family were at the cook out. They
were here for the E.D.B.C. Reunion.
Elwood was one of the charger
members.
Bobbie (Oats) Poer and her son,
Commie Lane Oats, of Slaton, and
Kathryn Briscoe, of Paris, visited Jack
and Glenna Scott and Lane George
last week. Jack and Sue Helm, of
Antlers, Oklahoma visited Jack and
Glenna also.
There was a nice write-up in the
VENTURE magazine last week
about Pete and lola Wright, titled
“Bonham VA Enables Elderly
Couple to Remain Together,” There
was a good picture of them in that
magazine also.
Tim and Betty Oliver are
expecting lots of company this
weekend. Their son and
grandchildren and lean’s children
and their families arc expected. They
will probably be at the East Delta
Musical Saturday night. All of you
try to be there. The supper and music
start at 6:30.
There was a nice write-up in the
Sunday’s PARIS NEWS about the
East Delta musicals, with a picture
of Robert Dyer playing and singing,
and a picture of Daniel Rainey
playing his fiddle.
East Delta Baptist Church had a
crowd for their 50th anniversary
Sunday, even though it was raining.
Cars were lined up all the way to the
road. They really had some good
music and some good food and good
preaching and good fellowship.
