EDITORIAL CHIT CHAT.
Nearly a year ago a society known as the Anti-Seebeck Society was organ-
ized. It has slowly but surely grown and has now a splendid membership,
among whom are found many of our leading and thoughtful philatelists. In
accordance with the constitution an election will be held on July 1st of each
year. Nominations will be received by the secretary until June 1st for publi-
cation. Some of the non members nave created an impression that when a
collector becomes a member of the Anti-Seebeck Society they are obliged to
destroy all stamr s in their possession the society pledges against. Such is not
the case. Any one joining is at liberty to keep all they already have (or de-
stroy them if they wish) but cannot dispose of them to any fellow collector.
We advise every well wisher of Philately to cut out the pledge on last page
and join.
IMPRESSIONS BY THE WAY.
Perhaps the most high toned satire upon scientific philately, it has been my
good fortune to read, is the one entitled "A collection in 1910" by Herbert
Carlyle, in the Eastern Philatelist, for March. Truly this subject has been
exhausted thoroughly 'ere this, and yet collectors are still where they were
in the beginning. Those who believe in the collection of minute shades, er-
rors, differences in perforations etc., continue to collect; those who are op-
posed to it, desist. Where's the harm either way?
