Senior Citizens Ask?
IIMIK
-By Twila Lyles-
I'm not sure why, but spring
break really took a toll on
attendance at the centers.
Especially Butler on Wednesday
and Streetman on Thursday. Only
a hand full were there.
Nancy was on the road a lot
last week with a trip to Teague,
Wortham and Streetman. I mostly
stayed in the office to man the
phone and see about transportation.
We had several cancellations for
the vans and on Friday, needed
only one van driver. Hope things
pick up soon.
The good news is that Odie
came home from the hospital and is
doing well. Don't know when she
can return to w ork but look forward
to that day. Nancy went by to sec
her the day she came home.
Between Nancy and I, we
ccrtilied 4 new people who will be
getting a home bound meal or
Ensure.
Things are going well in
Teague. The city has ordered a
new dishwasher, which will be built
in and that's a plus. They are also
in the process of painting the
kitchen. These improvements will
be paid for by the weekly breakfast
held at the center and cooked by
different volunteers. There is a
team effort going on and it benefits
all. There will be changes at
Reunion Center also as the Teen
Center will be getting their own
building in the near future. This is
a dream come true for them and the
culmination of lots of planning and
hard work.
HINT FOR THE DAY: The
best things in life aren't tilings.

it May Take A While, But
You're On The Right Track
One important way to keep your air conditioning
bill lower this summer is to shade your outside
compressor. The brutal rays of the sun can take
their toll. but you can take steps to ward
them off with trees and plants. Also, re-
member the importance of ceiling and wall
insulation, keeping your thermostat set at
78 degrees and your home cooler
with drapes and blinds We want
to help you save money.
