stolen property recovered
More than $L6 million in
stolen cowboy boots and other
items have been recovered
through a joint operation by the
Carrollton police and the Texas
Department of Public Safety.
Six people were arrested, al-
though their names were not re-
leased, and the investigation is
ongoing, officials said.
Search warrants executed in
Princeton, Dallas and Grand
Prairie on May 15-16 led to the re-
covery of 6,100 pairs of Justin and
Tony Lama boots that were
among 6,400 pairs reported sto-
len earlier this year in cargo thefts.
The boots were valued at $1
million, police said. Officers also
recovered washers, dryers, bed-
ding, tires, clothing, electronics
and food products valued at
$614,000 that were reported sto-
len in Arlington, Dallas, Carroll-
ton and Grand Prairie, according
to Nicole Rodriquez, spokeswom-
an for Carrollton police.
In January, 3,400 pairs of
boots were reported missing
from a cargo truck in a parking
lot in Carrollton in Denton
County, police said. In March,
another storage container with
more than 2,700 pairs of boots
was reportedly taken. Another
300 boots were also reported
stolen.
Double Oak firefighters re-
sponded to one medical call.
Double Oak police assisted two
agencies and responded to four
traffic calls, one animal com-
plaint and one medical call.
Hickory Creek police assis-
ted one agency and responded
to two suspicious activity calls,
one theft, 27 traffic calls and one
animal complaint.
Justin firefighters respond-
ed to two medical calls. Justin
police responded to one missing
person, four traffic calls and one
animal complaint.
Krum firefighters respond-
ed to one medical call. Krum po-
lice responded to one ordinance
violation, three traffic calls and
three animal complaints.
Lake Cities firefighters as-
sisted three citizens and re-
sponded to one medical call.
Little Elm firefighters re-
sponded to four medical calls
and two traffic accidents. little
Elm police assisted one agency
and responded to two assaults,
one theft, one burglary, one
Child Protective Services refer-
ral, one criminal mischief call,
two disturbance calls, one ha-
rassment call, one intoxicated
a.m. Thursday:
■ Denton County sheriff’s
dispatchers handled 717 service
and officer-initiated calls and
booked 40 people into Denton
County Jail.
■ Denton police responded
to 318 service and officer-initiat-
ed calls and posted 20 reports
online.
■ Denton firefighters re-
sponded to 20 medical calls and
one vehicle accident.
Argyle firefighters respond-
ed to two medical calls, one con-
trolled bum and one traffic acci-
dent. Argyle police assisted one
agency and responded to eight
traffic calls and one traffic com-
plaint.
Aubrey firefighters re-
sponded to one traffic accident
and two medical calls. Aubrey
police responded to one theft
and eight traffic calls.
Bartonville police assisted
four agencies and responded to
four traffic calls.
Corinth police responded to
one burglary, one criminal mis-
chief report, one domestic dis-
turbance, one reckless driver,
four suspicious activity calls, 25
traffic calls, two traffic com-
plaints, two welfare concerns,
three traffic accidents and eight
animal complaints.
