Accountable To Witness
Is Baptist Bible Study
“Accountable to Witness: Who...
Me?” was the title of the study presented
for First Baptist Women by Wanda
Crosthwait Tuesday, May 5.
Suggesting excuses offered for not
witnessing such as lack of confidence,
fear of rebuff, timidity, she gave some
hints to make talking to people easier.
Conversations might be started by re-
calling FIRE - Family, Interests, Reli-
gious background, and Exploratory
questions which could reveal an
individual’s religious temperament.

son of prayer.
“Accounting 101” which reminded
each one of her accountability for shar-
ing the gifts received from God was
presented by Hazel Lovett.
Annis Jones offered a prayer for mis-
sionaries with birthdays this date to
conclude the meeting.
Announcement was made of an All-
Church Missions Banquet on May 20.
Refreshments were served by Cather-
ine Thomas to those mentioned and to
Zella Dagley, Justine Watson, Kay
Smith, Ann Cumpton, and Lou Trotter.
Shower Honors
Karen Cranfill
Karen Cranfill, bride-elect of Chris
Cox, was honored Friday, May 1, with a
kitchen shower in the home of co-host-
ess Leslie Penrose. Holly Chapman and
Kristen Adams were co-hostesses. The
honoree’s chosen colors, teal and mauve
were used in decorations.
Special guests were the engaged
couple’s mothers, Donna Cranfill and
Sandra Cox, and Karla Cranfill, sister of
the honoree.

Seniors Honored
With Picnic
Members of the Olney High School
senior class were honored with a picnic
at Tommy Perkins park during the noon
hour Tuesday, May 5.
Hostesses for the event were Lena
Myers, Donna Pearcy, Nita Heame,
Julia Waldrop, Carla Perry, Helen Gi-
lbert, Evelyn Altmiller, Peggy Bock-
hoff, Pat Kunkel, Hazel Lovett, Frances
Key, Ann Cumpton, Jan Myers, and
AARP MONTHLY
MEETING PLANNED
AARP Chapter 2794 will meet
Wednesday, May 14, in fellowship hall
of First United Methodist Church im-
mediately after the noon Senior Citizen
lunch. All members and friends are
asked to attend. An interesting program
is planned.

Engagement Told
Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Cooper of Joshua
announce the engagement and ap-
proaching marriage of their daughter,
Stacy Rene, to Michael ScottLundy, Jr.,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Scott
Lundy of DeSoto.
The bride-elect is a 1985 graduate of
Joshua High School and graduated
Baylor University in 1989 with abache-
lors degree in psychology. She received
a degree in physical therapy from the
University of Texas Southwestern
Medical Center. She is employed at the
Baylor Rehabilitation Center in Dallas
as a physical thereapist. She is the
granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Freddy
Horany and Mrs. C.C. Cooper of Olney .
The future groom is a 1985 graduate
of DeSoto High School and graduated
Baylor University in 1990 with a bache-
lors degree in psychology. He is em-
ployed at Haven Psychiatric Hospital as
a counselor for substance abuse.
The wedding is planned for June 20 in
First Baptist Church in Burleson.
