I heard through the grapevine
this week that The Golden Trian-
gle Art Center closed its doors.
I think it’s sad when a commu-
nity just can’t see the value in
organizations like that; without
local support, it’s an extremely
difficult effort to make a go of it.
It’s even more of a shame because
there’s now a hole to fill with
summer art classes for kids and
adults alike.
Please show your support for
your regional arts groups; they
can’t survive without your sup-
port!
You have two opportunities
this week to do exactly that.
Things are in high gear for the
upcoming Art Festival in Rock-
port. The Rockport Center for
the Arts holds this annual event
as a fundraiser every year. It’s
an amazing event full or art,
music, and food on the festival
grounds by Rockport Harbor.
On July 4th, the Rialto Theater is
also holding a special fundraiser
Blues & BBQ event at The Tiki
Bar at HSYC on Conn Brown
Harbor. You should be able to
enjoy the rockets’ red glare from
three different fireworks shows
that evening, an All-American
barbecue, and a great band from
Victoria: The Hot Attacks.
