COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING DRAWS CROWD
Charles B. “Chuck” Titman
continued from page 1
Our membership, represent-
ing communities through-
out Missouri, wanted to do
something to recognize the
public service and selfless
efforts that City Employees
perform in times of crisis.
Thus, our sponsorship of the
Aransas Pass Fall Feast is in-
tended to say ‘Thank You’ to
every City Employee. Even
without knowing the com-
munity personally, we know
city employees are going
above and beyond to recover
and reestablish normalcy in
your City - it’s what public
servants do. We hope our
small contribution to this
important event will help ev-
eryone in your community
recognize and appreciate the
vital role that City Employees
and City Leaders play in lives
every day. We are with you in
spirit, Missouri City Manag-
ers Association.”
Aransas Pass Mayor
Ramiro Gomez said at first
he did not think the dinner
would happen, but it was put
together because of Sara Lee,
the city’s director of commu-
nity enrichment. He added it
made him feel good to see the
large crowd.
The mayor also said it’s
a bigger turnout than he
thought it would be, noting
they ran out of mashed pota-
toes and green beans. “But we
have lots of turkey dressing
and gravy,” Gomez said. He
also gave thanks to God for
giving the City the privilege
and opportunity, the favor
and whatever it took to help
them put the meal together.
“Without Him we can’t do
anything,” he said.
Lee pointed out the City
of Aransas Pass normally has
a budget of $2,500 to pay for
the meal, but this year only
had $1,500. With the funding
from the State of Missouri,
the desserts provided by the
Woman’s Club and Cable
one, and staffing provided by
the Bakery Cafe and city staff
members, the dinner was
successful.
Lee said, “I’m really happy
we were able to pull this to-
gether,” pointing out doing
this does takes an effort, and
takes the community coming
together. She said they nor-
mally rely on a lot of volun-
teer organizations and non-
profits, and thought about
pushing it back to Christmas.
Lee said, “But we didn’t, we
said let’s just do it, we’re go-
ing to make it happen and we
did.”
Charles B. “Chuck” Tit-
man, 72, passed away Nov.
20, 2017 surrounded by his
loving family in Aransas
Pass. Charles was born on
Aug. 23, 1945 in Grand Is-
land, NE.
Charles was preceded in
death by his parents Connie
Titman and Don Titman.
He is survived by his wife
Rita Titman; three daugh-
ters, Tracy (Mike) Burdeau,
Kathy (Jason) Reeves, and
Liz (Carl) Fox; eight grand-
children, Brandy Darst,
Paige Burdeau, Alyssa Bur-
deau, Kirk Reeves, Jake
Reeves, Harry Scabarozi,
Jack Scabarozi, and Casey
Burdeau; and six great-
grandchildren, Bryan Hill,
Dylan Darst, Cheyenne
Brower, Jordan Whipple,
Nataleigh Tatum and Mad-
elyn Scabarozi.
Inspired by his father
Chuck became a “lineman”
for an electric company af-
ter serving his country in
the U.S. Army. Chuck be-
came a journeyman elec-
trician and eventually a
superintendent and project
manager for large construc-
tion projects including oil
platforms and power plants.

competed in rodeos as a bull
rider. He enjoyed golf and
bay fishing for many years
in Aransas Pass.

In addition to the gener-

tament to the community’s
resiliency in coming back af-
ter the storm.
