in the Methodist Church social
hall Monday evening with their
guests for a fried chicken din-
ner. After dinner they went into
the church sanctuary for the
program which was presented
by Mrs. L. V. Hunter and local
girls. Miss Margie Beth Turner
played an organ solo and ac-
companied Myra Richey who
sang. Micah Jean Smith and
Virginia Caffey each gave a
reading.
Superintendent A. D. Lem-
mons of the Tyler district In-
troduced Judge M. G. Mell of
Gilmer who was guest speaker
for the evening. The charter
was presented by Grady Skelton j
of Mineola with forty-two char-
ter members. j

morning the W.M.S. Circles of
the First Baptist Church met
for a royal service program led
by Mrs. Joe McIntosh. The title
was “Stop, I.ook and Listen.”
Opening prayer was led by Mrs.
R. B. Smith which was followed
with singing the hymn “We’ve
a Story to Tell to the Nations.”
Devotional was given by Mrs.
W. C. Becker. Other talks were
made by Mrs. W H. Smith, Mrs.
Ray Perryman. Mrs. F. M Mor-
rison. Jr.. Mrs. C. B. Clark. Mrs.
Y. H. Davis and the closing
prayer was given by Mrs. W. H.
Smith.
A short business meeting was
held and Mrs. C. B. Clark was
elected president.

two chapters “Women and
Wealth” and “Women and Con-
sumers" by Helen Wood. Mrs.
B. H. Williford gave the devo-
tional and dismissed the meet-
ing with prayer.
A social hour followed. Ten
members were present.
