There was a time when the
United Methodist Women of
Ingleside could work tirelessly,
preparing for the large an-
nual rummage sale that they
held on the church grounds
each year. The Sunday School
rooms, the fellowship hall and
even the courtyard were filled
with donated items to sell so
money could be raised to pro-
vide funds for all of the mission
projects that the women were
involved with and donated
funds to.
Those projects continue to
need funds. But, as the years
have progressed, the women

do the heavy work required for
such a large project.
As they age, their spouses
are aging along with them.
Knees give out, backs can’t take
the strain and muscles grow
weaker. New fundraising meth-
ods have to be thought of.
This year, the UMW of In-
gleside decided to scale down
the work a bit.
They are holding a garage
sale at 2545 San Angelo on May
1-2. This is a multi-family sale
since all of the members have
contributed to it. One member
had to move out of state due to
health reasons and many items
from her home are a part of this
sale. So, it is a combination ga-
rage sale and moving sale.

is “turning faith, hope, and
love into action for women,

the year, the UMW of Ingleside
hope to do just that.

and seeing the Conn Brown
Harbor development through.
Gomez said he would like to
see more after school and sum-
mer programs for the students
of APISD.
In addition, he wants to seek
more grants for the city.
He wants to ensure that the
development goes well, and
that the businesses that come
to Aransas Pass are good for the
community.
Gomez said he believes the
city’s biggest asset is the citi-
zens of Aransas Pass.
“If we can get everyone to
work together, and everybody
is able to come up with a so-
lution... whatever issue it is,
whatever project you have -
those people can help you out.
And that’s a huge asset,” he
said.
