Home Lenders
Info Meeting
The Texas Housing Agency will
hold a series of informational
meetings in August to introduce
home mortgage lenders to a new
form of housing assistance that is
expected to be offered to qualified
low- and moderate-income families
beginning in the fall.
The Agency will hold meetings in
Austin, Harlingen, Midland.
Arlington, Houston, and Lufkin
between August 20-22 to distribute
information lo lenders on mortgage
credit certificates, Mortgage credit
certificates, which were authorized
by the 1984 Tax Reform Act, entitle
the holder to a federal tax
credit in connection with the pur-
chase of a principal resident. The
Lufkin meeting is set for 2-4 p.m.,
Aug. 22 at the Holiday Inn, Loop 287
and 59 South.
