Maybe some of you were ,sui prised that we wouht ask a
question like that. Hut we meant it We weren’t asking for
compliments. We did it to find out wliat you really thought
about telephone service here
When the cards came hack with your answers, we weie
happy to see that most of you said 'Service is very good, well
satisfied with it ” And it was good hearing it from you. he
I cause we'll all admit Ilia! mdiody knows more about your ser-
vice than you do.
We got a few complaints - thanks for telling us about
them - and we tried to clear those up m a hurry so that every-
one in Carthage would Ire satisfied with their telephone
serv ice.
Meanwhile, don't hesitate if something's bothering you
right now about your telephone service Jusl can the teiephone

something about it. too.
Stop Those Hurried Dashes
Ever notice how you run for a ringing telephone because
vou're often in another part of the house*' Then, when you get
there, you’re probably a little out of breath as you answer
The heist way I know of to stop tliose dashes through the
house is a handy extension telephone.

The big black-maned lion got
up one morning in the African
jungle, feeling particularly mean
and ornery. He started out through
the jungle and every animal he
met he stopped and snarlingly de
mantled "Who is the king of
beasts"”
“You are, Mr Lion," ot course
they answered By the time he
had gotten this reply from a doz-
en animals of different kinds and
sizes, he was really strutting and
acting kingly Finally he came to
where a great elephant stood in
the shade of a tree The lion strut-
ted up to the elephant and in hit
most ferocious voice demanded:
"Who is the king of beasts?"
The elephant wound his trunk
around the lion and threw him
way up in the tree. He came thump-
ing down, crashing from one limb
to the other until he hit the
ground all bruised and bleeding.
And as he limped away he aald tu
the elephant:
