STORE
Merchant" ~
This week will mark the opening of the "27th" year An-
niversary of THE FAIR STORE. You cannot afford
to miss the hundreds of items offered at a tre-
mendcous saving for you. The future market is very in-
secure, but you can be sure that the goods you buy at
these unheard of prices, will not be offered at the some
prices for a long time to come.
Mr. Kayal has been in the Dry Goods busines for 27
years, and during that time his stores have offered qual-
ity lines of nationally advertised merchandise, along
with friendly, courteous service to millions of customers,
whose patronage response is increasing daily. Mr.
Kayal is proud of the fact that all of the money he has
made has been spent right here in the State of Texas, and
most of that, here in our own West Texas which means
that more people will have the opportunity to buy fine
quality goods at a fair price, from a West Texas merch-
ant, whose heart goes out to the poor class of people,
who must stretch every dollar that comes through their
hands. Mr. Kayal has built more than a hundred houses
and sold them to laborers and widows, who would have
otherwise never been able to own a home of their own,
and this same spirit of fairness to all, reflects itself in
the low markup of merchandise that is offered the public.
Mr. Kayal's long experience in the dry goods business
enables him to carry out his pet business theory, "Buy it
right and sell it right." which is in effect, money in your
pocket, through the savings you make in shopping at
the Fair Department Stores.
Mr. Kayal came to Lamesa in the yeqr of 1924, and be-
gan his dry goods business in a small store on the east
side of the square. As his business grew, he expanded. In
1930 his business had grown to the extent that it was
necessary to have larger quarters. He purchased the lot
where Ms present store in Lamesa now stands, and built
a fine building, which now houses his home store and
general offices. From his beginning in Lamesa, his busi-
ness has expanded to the point that he now has ten
Fair Department Stores, Inc., scattered throughout West
Texas in the following towns:
Monahans, Odessa, Baytown, Brownfield, Seagraves,
Levelland and Snyder and now has the second store in
operation in Lamesa and at this time is formulating
plans for opening a fine store in Midland, Texas.
