with Cisco Systems, the worldwide
leader in networking for the
Internet

Cisco Networking Training
Academy and will oner classes this
fall for the first four semesters of

"The affiliation with Cisco will
enable students to acquire a new
level of skills and help them to
become more viable in the
workplace,” said Jim Walker, dean
of continuing and distance
education at SPC. “We are very
excited to be selected as a site for
the Cisco academy system .” There
are more than 2,000 Cisco
Networking Training Academies

Continuing and Distance Education,
located in the Technical Arts

adults and students who are
interested in learning more about

out there in the year 2000 and
beyond in the networking field,”
said J D. Harrell, assistant professor
of electronic service technology at
SPC. He and Raymund Elizondo,
also an assistant professor in the
EST program, underwent training

“Cisco manufacturers routers,

learn how routers are set up, how a
general network is established and
how to set up in networks in small

Harrell “They will also learn
program-specific information on
Cisco products, and they will also
have the opportunity to receive
Cisco schools as well as the
