The SHS band earned
approximately $700 from a
popcorn sale On Monday,
the band had a car wash
earning $102
The money earned
through both projects will
be used for the band to take
a trip and attend the Six
Flags Band Festival at
Texas Hall on the Univer-
sity of Texas campus at
Arlington ----------
The band will be leaving
for Arlington Saturday

the homemaking students
held has two winners
The winner was Nancy
Yoiikg. first place with a
total of 52 items She is a
Homemaking II student
and also an EHA member.
Second place winner was
Sherri Shouse with a total'
of 38 items She is a Home-
making I student Each
girl received a $5 gift
certificate from Anthonys.
The students assignment
was to work on their closet
and repair or clean out
unused items For
example, some of the
students sewed up seams
on pants, sewed buttons
onto shirts, made shorts
out of long pants, ironed
some of their clothes, gave
their clothes to someone
else, or put them in garage
sales

Rudy Cedillo placed sixth.
Ernie jumped 18 feet, 1
inch while Rudy had a best
effort of 17 feet, five inches.
Ernie also placed third in
the 300-meter dash with a
time of 40.03 Marty Flores
was fourth irv this event
with a time of 41.14
Ronnie Garcia placed
fifth in the shot put and
Tommy Collins placed
third in the high jump.
Tommy also won first
place in the 200-meter dash
with a time of 25.04
Stamford took the first
three places in the 600-
"meter run Lano Gonzales,
Robert Munoz and Tommy
Rosas placed first, second
and third respectively.
Lano's time was 1:31,
Robert had a time of 1:33
and Tommy finished the
race in 1:34 27 •
Essie Woodward placed
third in the 220-low hurdles
with a time of 27 98 and
fourth in the 70-meter high
hurdles with a time of

Coach Richardson said
that he is "very proud of
the team and appreciates
everyone's hard work ”
