Shredded and fancy shredded natural cheeses are
favorites for quick meals. Here is your chance to be
creative with these convenient cheeses and win prizes for
your efforts.
The top winner of the fourth annual Sargento
"Cheese Makes The Recipe" Contest will win $5,000.
Category winners are awarded $1,000 and 11 semi-
finalists will receive mid-size microwave ovens.
Entries for the contest must be postmarked by
midnight, March 16, 1992 and received by March 27.
Contestants can enter their favorite family recipes
or new cheese creations in one or all of three categories:
Appetizers and Snacks, Side Dishes, Main Dishes

The grand prize winner last year was Eileen Watson of
Florida. Here is her winning recipe:
Cheese and Spinach Tortilla Pizza
2 Ige flour tortillas (10 inch) 2 tsp. vegetable oil
1/4 c sour cream 1 tomato, seeded, chopped
1 pkg. frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
1/2 cup sliced ripe olives
1 c. Sargento Fancy Shredded mild cheddar cheese
1 c. Sargento shredded Monterey Jack
1/2 c. Sargento Fancy shredded parmesan cheese
1/2 c. thinly sliced green onions
Place tortillas on foil-lined baking sheet. Brush oil
evenly over tortillas. Bake at 450* 3-4 min. or until
golden brown. Spread sour cream evenly over tortillas,
top with spinach, tomato and olives. Sprinkle cheeses
evenly over tortillas, bake 350* 5-8 min. Sprinkle with
green onions, cut into wedges. Makes 12.

Ingleside First Baptist Church
has several activities planned this
weekend, including a blood drive,
a fellowship, and a Children’s Bi-
ble Club.
The mobile blood unit will be at
the church Sunday from 2 to 5
p.m. Persons who wish to sche-
dule, although it is not necessary,
may call the church 776-2465.

Council of the Navy League will
be chartered of Feb 18 at the
Northshore Country Club.
The activities will begin at 6:30
p.m. and will include a reception
honoring Rear Admiral John D.
Pearson, commander of the Mine
Warfare Command.

DAVIN T. CHEANEY of Ingleside is listed on the President’s
Honor Roll for the fall quarter at Texas State Technical College in
Waco. Cheaney, a student in the aircraft pilot training technolo-
gy program, is the son of WALTER CHEANEY. The President’s
Honor Roll recognizes the scholastic achievement of students
with a grade point average of 4.0.

SYNTHIA SVATEK, 3, was guest of honor at a birthday
celebration hosted by her parents BEJ AND KENNY SVATEK of
Palacios. The party was held in the Stacy family vacation home
on the San Bernard River in Sweeney. Attending were the
great-grandparents, ELMER AND ANNIE STACY of Ingleside;
grandparents, JOE AND JANINE STACY of Rockport; Synthia’s
sisters, STACY and SAMANTHA SVATEK of Palacios; her uncle
BRITTON and aunt KIM STACY of Garland. For the celebration,
the dining room was decorated with balloons and streamers. A
chocolate cake baked by ALMA GUNN and a Barbie motif was
used on the table complete with hats and Barbie party favors.
