On Monday, January 18, the
Jr. High Girls basketball teams
traveled to Honey Grove to meet
the Warriorettes.
The 7th grade girls defeated
Honey Grove by a score of 23-7.
Scoring for the team was Yai
Williams with 11 points, Melod-
ic Larry with 8 and Wendy
Thompson with 4.
The 8th grade girls were
defeated in the game against
Honey Grove by a score of
32-30 in overtime. At the end of
regulation play, the score was
tied at 24-24.
Robin Carrington led the 8th
grade with 14 points followed by
Amanda Carrington with 8,
Donna Glossup with 5 and
Jeannie Eudy with 3.

The Cooper Varsity Bulldogs
defeated the Community Braves
79-47 last Tuesday, January 26,
at Nevada at the Community
gym.
Top scorers for Cooper were
Jimmy Bacy with 18, Brian
Kelso with 16 and Chris Roberts
with 10 for the night.
Cooper's top rebounders were
Danny Stewart, Bacy, Roberts
and James Williams.
Coach Rob Taylor said, "We

Sandra Neal was the Dogettes

Cooper with 12.

Elects New Officers
Scotty Waller was elected
president of the CHS Rodeo
Club during a called meeting of
that organization last Wednes-
day evening, January 27, at the
high school.
Other officers elected were
David Moody, vice-president;
Lesley Echols, secretary; and
Lea Stockton, treasurer.
The group set May 7 and 8 as
the dates for their annual rodeo.

DISTRICT RECORD
The Cooper Varsity Dogettes
defeated the Community girls
83-42 last Tuesday, January 26,
at the Community gym in
Nevada.
Top rebounders for Cooper
were Andy Preas with 12 points,
Debbie Blagbum with 10 and
Delinda Wintermute with nine.
Preas, Lea Stockton and Dee
Ann Eudy were top scorers for
the Dogettes with 28, 19 and 10,
respectively.
The Dogettes season record
now stands at 22-6 and their
district record has been extend-
ed to 7-2.

the plays this year

Visits ETSU Campus
Members of the accounting
class at Cooper High School
visited the Computer Science
Department at East Texas State
University Tuesday, January 26.
The visit was made in conjunc-
tion with the student’s recent
study of the computer in ac-
counting.
The group was given a tour of
the computer room and were
told how some of the computers
work. They also were given a
demonstration in the computer
terminal room. Each student
was given an opportunity to try
a keypunch machine.
Students attending included

Imogene Spring Hosts Bible Club
The Jr. Bible Club met in the
home of Imogene Spring Thurs-
day, January 28. at 2 p.m.
The meeting was called to
order by club president Velma
Calvin. The opening prayer was
voiced by Celine Winsett.

which was answered with quo-
tations on "Heaven” by 13
members.
Dot Winsett and Karen Rush-
ing were leaders for the joint
