Save Campbel I Labels Alpha Theta Omega
Hosts Holiday Dinner
For Baptist Missions
The Missions Organizations
of the First Baptist Church
are collecting labels from
Campbell Products to pur-
chase athletic equipment
for the Valley Baptist
Academy in Harlingen.
If you would like to be
a part of this missions pro-
ject please save the labels
from any Campbells pro-
ducts, this includes the 58
varities of soups, beans,
tomato juice, V-8 vegetable
juice, Fra nko-A meric an
gravies and pasta products.
A collection box will be
set up in the main hallway
of the church or at the
News office or you may
call 883-4521 or 883-2521
or contact a G. A. member
to have them picked up at
your home.
All labels must be turned
in by January 27, 1980.
Your participation will be
greatly appreciated.
A traditional dinner of
turkey and ham with all
the trimmings was enjoyed
by Alpha Theta Omega
Sorority members and their
husbands November 17
at the Community Center.
The evening was spent
visiting, playing dominoes
and icards.

Mrs. Elsie Andress of
Borger was guest speaker
at the annual Thanksgiving
Dinner held last Wednesday
night at the First United
Methodist Church.
Around 85 were in atten-
dance for the traditional
meal prepared by the
United Methodist Women.
ACCIDENT CONTROL-One
of the best escape routes in
a home fire is through a
window. The Texas Agri-
cultural Extension Service
advises families to plan
ahead for window escape.
This may require installing
rope ladders for youngsters
or a handy ladder stored
nearby for older adults.
What would "The Sound of West Texas" be without the
freshman members? The West Texas State University
Marching Band has 235 student members and almost 100
of them are freshmen. The flag girls, a drill team of 24
marching members, also would be missing a few mem-
bers without the freshmen. White Deer’s flag girl is
Cyndy Barnard, a generic special education major and
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. P. Barnard,
4-H Rifle Program
Participation Up
Enrollment in the 4-H
shooting sports project con-
tinues to grow by leaps and
bounds, says a 4-H and
youth specialist. More than
4, 000 youth are currently
enrolled. The project is
a lifetime, family-oriented
activity and includes a
varied curriculum such as
. 22 rifle marksmanship,
trap, skeet, pistol, reload-
ing, history and collecting
blackpowder, air rifle and
. 22 silhouette.
