A Note From The Chief
By Police Chief Ronnie Leek
Yoakum Police Department
In light of what's going on, I think this is news everyone should hear.
It came off the internet and is being passed around throughout the United
States. I want to thank Bill Walker of the Hallettsville area for sharing it
with me recently
AMERICA: THE GOOD NEIGHBOR
Widespread, but only partial news coverage was given recently to a
remarkable editorial broadcast from Toronto by Gordon Sinclair, a Ca-
nadian television commentator. What follows is the full text of his tren-
chant remarks as printed in the Congressional Record:
"This Canadian thinks it is time to speak up for the Americans as the
most generous and possibly the least appreciated people on all the earth.
Germany, Japan and, to a lesser extent, Britain and Italy were lifted
out of the debris of war by the Americans who poured in billions of dol-
lars and forgave other billions in debts None of these countries is today
paying even the interest on its remaining debts to the United States.
When France was in danger of collapsing in 1956. it w as the Ameri-
cans who propped it up, and their reward was to be insulted and swindled
on the streets of Pans I was there. I saw it.
When earthquakes hit distant cities, it is the United States that hur-
nes in to help This spnng, 59 American communities were flattened by
tornadoes Nobody helped
The Marshall Plan and the Iruman Policy pumped billions of dol-
lars into discouraged countries Now. newspapers in those countries are
writing about the decadent, warmongering Americans.
I’d like to see just one of those countries that is gloating over the
erosion of the United States dollar build its own airplane Does any other
country in the world have a plane to equal the Boeing Jumbo Jet. the
Lockheed Tn-Star. or the Douglas DC 10? If so, why don't they fly them?
Why do all the International lines except Russia fly American Planes?
Why does no other land on earth even consider putting a man or
woman on the moon? You talk about Japanese technocracy, and you get
radios. You talk about German technocracy, and you get automobiles.
You talk about American technocracy, and you find men on the moon -
not once, but several times and safely home again.
You talk about scandals, and the Americans put theirs right in the
store window for everyone to look at Even their draft-dodgers are not
pursued and hounded. They are here on our streets, and most of them,
unless they are breaking Canadian laws, are getting American dollars
from ma and pa at home to spend here.
When the railways of France. Germany and India were breaking
down through age, it was the Americans who rebuilt them. When the
Pennsylvania Railroad and the New York Central went broke, nobody
loaned them an old caboose Both are still broke.
I can name you 5,000 times when the Americans raced to the help of
other people in trouble. Can you name me even one time when someone
else raced to the Americans in trouble? I don't think there was outside
help even during the San Francisco earthquake.
Our neighbors have faced it alone, and I'm one Canadian who is
tired of hearing them get kicked arourid. They will come out of this thing
with their flag high And when they do. they are entitled to snub their
nose at the lands that are gloating over their present troubles I hope
Canada is not one of these "
Stand proud America!
1'11 close with this quote from Ronald Reagan. 40th President of the
United States of America: "The time has come to tum to God and reas-
sert our trust in Him for the healing of America . Our country is in need
of and ready for a spiritual renewal."
AD & NEWS DEADLINES: MONDAYNOON
Now we are approaching Constitution Week, but we still have
people concerned about paying for what the United Nations calls our
share (1/4 of the U.N. budget and 1/3 of U.N. peacekeeping bills).
1 am thankful that there are some members of Congress who are
resisting payments to the U N. Let us mention just a few reasons
why we should not pay the U.N. another dime. The U N. sends aid to
the government of Sudan that is in the process of committing geno-
cide on the Christians in that land. The U.N. conceived International
Criminal Court will give the U.N. the power to try, punish, and even
imprison Americans with absolutely no protection from our U.S.
Constitution. The U.N. has stated their need for authority to impose
taxes directly on American citizens. The U.N. has also called for a
permanent U.N. army. Already we have seen the bodies of Ameri-
can soldiers killed in the Korean War brought home in coffins
draped with the U.N. flag. The U.N. can be called the forerunner to
World Socialist government. I say that because every chairman of
the U.N. has been a socialist. Who was our American "hero" who
had a hand in founding this world socialist monster? It was none
other than Soviet communist agent, Alger Hiss, who was convicted
and sentenced for perjury.
1 really believe most Americans should be more concerned that
we protect our sovereignty and God-given rights under the United
States Constitution, rather than being concerned about paying the
so-called "debt" to the one-world Socialist monster called the United
Nations.
Sept. 17th marks Constitution Day and Sept. 17-23 is Constitu-
tion Week. I feel it is much more important that we count our
blessings and celebrate our United States Constitution, which has
been called the "miracle of America."
We should take the advice of our founding fathers, who warned
against foreign entangelments, by rejecting the United Nations com-
pletely.
Congratulations to Congressman Ron Paul for his Bill HR1146,
to get us out of the United Nations. It is titled the American Sover-
eignty Restoration Act of 2001. 1 challenge you to write your con-
gressman to co-sponsor and support HR 1146.
