Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Cerny
Bridgette Lynette Hajovsky of Shiner and Matthew Joe Cerny of Yoa-
kum were married in a double-ring ceremony on October, 18,2003 at
7 p.m. at St. Ann s Catholic Church. The bride is a 1994 graduate of
Cuero High School and a 1998 graduate nf the University of Houston-
Victoria with a Bachelor's Degree in Inter disciplinary Studies. She is
employed by Cuero ISD. The groom is a 1988 graduate of Jersey Vil-
lage High School and a 1989 graduate of Texas A&M Fire School. He is
employed by Bellaire Fire Department. Following a December honey-
moon to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla., the couple will reside is
Shiner.

CPR Instructor classes offered
South Texas CPR Associates
will conduct classes to train CPR
and First Aid Instructors on the
following dates at Lavaca Medi-
cal Center in Hallettsville.
All classes will be in the Lillie
A. Johnson Meeting Room in the
North end of the hospital and reg-
istration prior to classes is required
at least ten days before each re-
spective course.
The following courses will be
offered:
BLS CPR New Instructor
Class, Nov. 24, eight hours from 8
a.m. - 5 p.m. There is a $185 reg-
istration fee which includes tool
kits, videos, textbooks required for
teaching American Heart Associa-
tion (AHA) CPR Classes. Current
AHA Healthcare Provider of
Heartsaver CPR Card required for
participants.
Heartsaver First Aid Instructor
Class will be held Dec. 1 from 8
a.m. to 12 noon. There is a $125
registration fee which includes
tool kits, videos and textbooks re-
quired for teaching American
Heart Association First Aid
Classes. The class is open to cur-
rent AHA CPR Instructors.
Advance enrollment is required
for all classes and persons wish-
ing to register should send their
checks to South Texas CPR, P.O.
Box G, Hallettsville, Texas 77964.
All instruction will be under the
guidelines of the American Heart
Association and certification is for
two years.

Engagement announced
Dale and Cathy Ray of Victoria are pleased to announce the engage-
ment of their daughter, Tiffany Nicole Ray, to Brad Allen Ruoff of Impe-
rial Beach, Calif. The couple will be married in Victoria on Nov. 28,
2003. Tiffany Nicole is a 1996 graduate of Yoakum High School and is
employed by San Diego Laser Center in San Diego, Calif. Brad is a
1987 graduate of Bonaza High School in Las Vegas, Nev. Brady is a
Navy Seal Chief Petty Officer stationed in Coronado, Calif. Nicole is the
granddaughter of Arlene Martin of Yoakum.
Halloween at YNRC
Yoakum Nursing and Rehabilitation Center enjoyed participating in the
Pumpkin Patch Trail on Halloween. One trick-or-treater is shown above
recieving goodies from one of the YNRC residents.
