I received an advertising from
the Lubbock Avelance Journal with
a large picture of Darin Epley. In
large, black letters it stated that
Darin was promoted as General
Sales Manager for a Dodge Deal-
ership in Rockwall, Texas. It also
stated that Darin Epley is a native
of Old Glory. Darin graduated from
OGHS in 1985, which was the last
graduating class at OGHS before
the consolidation. He graduated
from Texas Tech in 1993. He is the
son of Landra Post of Abilene,
David Epley of Jud and the grand-
son of Polly (Baitz) Frazier of
Sagerton. Congratulations, Darin,
we are always very proud of our
former students.

Following a beautiful few days
earlier in the week, several bad
thunderstorms hit the Big Country
on Thursday evening and contin-
ued through the night with heavy
rains. The rain continued through
Friday. This is great for the wheat
fanners and ranchers, but a bum-
mer for the cotton harvest. Friday
evening was not too good on the
football players and fans.
Twenty one folks gathered at a
restaurant in Hamlin for a birthday
party on Monday evening to cel-
ebrate several birthdays. Attending
