How Use Of Water May
END YOUR
CONSTIPATION
WORRIES
As you grow older, your system be-
gins to dry out. This is true of your
digestive system, and it may lead to
constipation. Serutan, taken daily
with plenty of water, produces a
.smooth gel that provides the proper
moisture, bulk and peristaltic stimu-
lation to help end your constipation
worries.
Serutan is the all-vegetable lax-
ative aid that moistens hard, dry food
wastes and forms it for easy, regular
elimination. Serutan is entirely, dif-
ferent from harsh chemical pills,
salts, bran or oils. Take Serutan
daily with water and enjoy regular
elimination or your money back.

II Is Time
To Wake Up!

dent today. It manifests itself | Mr. and Mrs. Herschel Hearne' Mr. and Mrs. Fred Charles
in the lives of those who give of Dallas, Mrs. Wilson Grimes Bunch moved to an apartment in
themselves exclusively to “hav- of Greenville, Mrs. Tom Taylor the Mrs. Gill Sudderth home this
ing a big time” regardless of con-
sequences. The world seems to be
pleasure mad. This tendency is
seen among members too. Some
Mr. and Mrs. Richard L. Howell
and children have moved from
Joplin, Mo., to Beaumont where
Mr. Howell’s employment is. They
visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
J. R. Howell, last Friday night.
How strange that the creature
should be so ungrateful as to for-
get his Creator, but the history
of the ages has proven that man
has been prone to forget God.
“Can a maid forget her orna-
ments or a bride her attire? Yet
my people have forgotten me days
without number” (Jeremiah 2:
32).
In n Timothy, chapter 3, Paul
lists the consequences of forget-
ting God which shall be evident
in the last days. We are living
in perilous times, days of wars,
desolutions, pestilences, tempta-
tions, trails and snares, days of
heartaches and despair. How true
to our day are these descriptions
of men. Men are “Lovers of them-
selves,” greedy, grasping, selfish.
Today covetousness especially
manifests itself to an alarming
degree in all walks of life.
“Disobedience to parents” is
another fault which is almost the
rule rather than the exception in
our time. “Unthankfulness” is a
characteristic of oui’ age too. Ev-
en among professed Christians too
many of us fail to show by our
deeds the gratitude to God which
we express with our lips. For ex-
ample men often thank God for
living in a land where we have
“freedom of assembly” to worship
and yet habitually fail to assem-
ble to worship. Could it be that
some are thankful for the “free-
dom from worship.” Others claim
to be thankful for freedom of
religion, but they do not profess
religion.
Perhaps there has never been
a time when “natural affection”
was so lacking as now. This re-
sults in broken homes, deserted
wives, and neglected children.
Among juveniles it produces those
who murder their own parents.
Lack of natural affection causes
others- to forsake their aged
mothers and fathers when they
are in dire need.
“Lovers of pleasure more than
lovers of God.” This is very evi-
who “just can’t go to prayei’
meeting” and who “just can’t
make it to the worship more than j
once on “Lord’s Day,” still do
make it to every movie, ball
game, club meeting, and party
that rolls around. Lovers of pleas-
ure more than lovers of God!
Good people sometimes are guil-
ty of these things not realizing
that they are saying by their
actions they are more interested
in the “pleasures of the world”
than in spiritual things.
Then Paul lists “truce-break-
ers.” We despise such action in the
political and military realm, yet
covenant-breaking is so com-
monplace in our land today that
the old saying that “a man’s word
is as good as his bond” has about
disappeared from our vocabulary!
We need to WAKE UP for “now
is your salvation nearer than
when ye first believed (Romans
13:11). We need to make a solemn
self-examination (H Cor. 13:3-5).
Jesus arened, “Because iniquity
shall abound the love of many
shall wax cold” (Matt. 24: 23).
Jehovah once said, “My people
are bent to back-sliding against I
me.” (Hosea 11:7).
In Luke 17:12-19 we are told of
ten lepers who were cleansed by
the Lord. Nine of them were un-
grateful, and forgetting the Lord,
went their ways. Only one was
thankful and returned and wor-
shiped the Physician who had
made him whole. The Lord com-
mended him, but asked, “Where
I are the nine?” Are you in the
class of the one who remembered
Him or of the nine who forgot
Him?
David said, “The wicked shall
be turned into hell and all the
nations that forget God” (Psalms
9:17).
Until next week may the Lord
bless you is our prayer. Be sure
and go to church Sunday.
