Monon, 66, of Lubbock were at 2
p.m. Monday in the Monterey
Church of Christ in Lubbock.
Burial was in the Resthaven Me-
morial Park under the direction of
Resthaven Funeral Home of
Lubbock. Morton died at her
residence on Saturday morning
following a lengthy illness.
Bom Betty Stark, on Aug. 14,
1928 in Hope, Ark., she was
married to Larry Morton on June
20,1948 in Lubbock.
She was a secretary for the
Texas Education Service Center
for 22 years, retiring on December
31.1992. She has lived in Lubbock

Funeral services for William T.
(Bill) Vardeman, 67, were at 4 p.m.
Tuesday at First United Methodist
Church with Dr. Lynn Moore,
pastor, officiating.
Burial was in Resthaven Memo-
rial Park in Lubbock under the
direction of Geo. C, Price Funeral
Directors.
He died at Levelland Methodist
Hospital at 5:15 a.m. Sunday.
He graduated from Levelland
High School in 1945, and married
Jo Olive Mobley Aug. 28,1949, in
Levelland. He received his masters
degree from Texas Tech in 1953.
He was employed for a time with
Mobil Oil and later operated a
Dairy Mart in Plainview. He
moved to Wilson in 1958 where he
was principal of the Wilson School
until 1961 when he returned to
Levelland, and was principal at
Central Elementary School. He
served as superintendent for the
Levelland I.S.D. from 1967 to
1983. After his retirement, he
owned and operated Pop’s Shop in
Levelland.
He was a member of the First
United Methodist Church. He was
a member of the Texas Association
of School Administrators, the
American Association of School
Administrators where he held
leadership roles in both associa-
tions. He served as chairman for
the legislative committee of the
. UIL. He worked with the Salvation
for 13 years, moving from Level-
land. She was also former resident
of Brownfield. She was a member
of the Monterey Church of Christ.
Morton is survived by her
husband; one son Lance of Stan-
ton; one daughter Lynnette Greak
of Lubbock; her father Edd M.
Stark of Strawn; two brothers;
Walter A. Stark of Redding, Calif.,
and Carroll E. Stark of Lubbock;
two sisters; Annette Barlow of
Denton and Mary Lynn Collett of
Strawn; and five grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the
Muscular Dystrophy Association -
for research of A.L.S. (Lou Geh-
rig’s Disease).
Army, the Citizens Service Leag-
ue, and had been a member of the
Lions Club and the Kiwanis Club.
He is survived by his wife; two
sons; Joe Bill Vardeman of Ulys-
ses, Kan. and Don Vardeman of
McKinney; two daughters; Jana
Diamond of Fountain, Colo, and
Tami Huckeby; a sister, Mildred
Herberger of Houston; nine grand-
children; Rob Vardeman, Kama
Vardeman, Justin Vardeman,
Jayme Vardeman, Jason May, and
Billy Vardeman.
Pallbearers were Max Newman,
Kenneth Foster, Don Yarbrough,
Bill Billingsley, Judge Palmer, and
Bob Martin.
Services for Natalia Casarez,
80, of Morton, were at 2 p.m.,
Tuesday, at St. Ann’s Catholic
Church with Father Elbert Fadal-
lon officiating.
Rosary was said 7 p.m. Sunday
and Monday at Ellis Funeral Home
Chapel in Morton.
Burial was in Morton Memorial
Cemetery.
Casarez died March 18
Cochran Memorial Hospital.
She was bom December
1914, in El-Cleto, Texas. She
married Toribio Casarez in 1937 in
El-Cleto. He preceded her in death
in 1979.
Casarez had been a resident of
Morton since 1951, moving there
from Kames City, Tex. She was a
member of the Guadalupanas and

College, will be featured in his
sophomore recital on Thursday
(March 23).
The recital, which is open to
the public, will begin at 7 p.m.

Arts on the Levelland campus.

native, will be performing works
by Vaughan-Williams, Schu-
mann, von Weber, Mozart,
Grundman and Sousa on clarinet.
