Annetta May Lester-Brown
April 10, 1948 - October 14,2018
Annetta May Lester-Brown passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at her home in
Sanger at the age of 70.
Netta was born and raised in Denton, Texas. She was born on April 10, 1948 to Ruth
Lester and Samuel Lester. Growing up, she was the older sister that all her siblings could go
to for anything. She also was a great mother figure to her nieces and nephews. Netta always
gave everyone great advice. She loved to read and speak the Bible with everyone that was
interested in getting involved in a long deep conversation.
Netta worked for FEMA for many years. She traveled with a company and had moved
to Virginia while working for the company She was married to Jeffery Brown. She had
three cats and three dogs that were like her kids. She loved her animals and always had to
have her dog, Neveah in bed with her when she would take a nap or in bed for the night.
Netta loved listening and dancing to her music. She was just an all in all remarkable wom-
an. Full of joy most of the time and no one could really tell her anything. She had her own
rules in her life that she went by and that is just the way it was with her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Julia Lester Burgamy-Lindrop.
Those who will cherish her memory are her siblings, Viola Mitchell of Sanger, Rachel Wil-
son of Fort Worth, Diane Stanley of Sanger and Kathleen Jollif of Sanger, Samuel Lester
of Oklahoma and David Lester of England and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was be held at 2:00 pm in the Pavilion at the Sanger Cemetery
Services were under the direction of Coker Funeral Home in Sanger. Online condo-

Barbara L. Lair, of Krum, Texas (Born and raised in Pennsylvania), passed away peace-
fully at home on October 10th, 2018 at the age of 87 surrounded by her family
She was born on October 13th, 1930 and led a very full / happy of
life as a wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother.
She was a banker for over 30 years, and enjoyed many happy years
of traveling, cruising, square dancing, knitting, baking, ceramics, and
game nights with family & friends.
She married the love of her life on January 20th, 1950, and together
they raised a daughter, and opened their hearts & home to be known as
“Grandma & Pappy” to several others throughout the years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, (Paul & Mary Fye), and 3 brothers (Bill, Ron-
nie, and Larry).
She is survived, by her loving husband of 68 years (Harold “Dick” Lair), her daughter
& son in Law (Cindy & Jan College of Krum, TX), a granddaughter & husband (Stephanie
& Jerry Sprabeary, of Krum, TX), 2 great grandsons (Mason Arnett of Denton, TX, and
Carson Arnett of Krum, TX), her sister (Beverly Marcaccio, and brother, Paul Fye) along
with many other friends and family members.
Visitation was at DeBerry Funeral Directors on Friday, October 12, 2018 from 6-7
P.M. A graveside service was held on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at Jackson
Cemetery in Krum, TX.
James Riley Purnell
September23, 1946 - October 15,2018
James Riley Purnell, 72, of Sanger, went to be with his Lord and
Savior on Monday, October 15, 2018. The son of Lawrence Cooper
Purnell and Lorraine (Shafer) Purnell, he was born on September 23,
1946 in Poplarville, MS.
Riley was a graduate of Louisiana State University with a degree in
Zoology with the aspirations of becoming a veterinarian. He went on to
serve our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Upon his return from the military, Riley made a change in his career
path and began designing software and retired from Weatherford Inter-
national.
His most important decision came when he accepted Jesus Christ
as his Lord and Savior. He loved his two sons and raised them in the church. Riley loved
serving and sharing his love for the Lord.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Cooper Walker Purnell. He
is survived by his two sons Richard Purnell and wife Rose of Sanger and Tim Purnell and
wife Nicole of Sanger; one sister Lauren Worrell of Ames, Iowa; two brothers Vern Purnell
of San Diego, CA and Curtis Purnell of Sacramento, CA; and four grandchildren Ryleigh
Purnell, Richard Purnell, Raegan Purnell and Lorraine Purnell
A family gathering will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at the First
Baptist Church in Sanger followed by a memorial service at 3:00 pm. Pastor Grant Bowles
will officiate the service.

Larry Forrest Cantwell
October 1, 1948 - October 15,2018
Larry Forrest Cantwell, 70, passed away Monday, October 15, 2018
in Wichita Falls.
The family received friends between 5 and 7 p.m. Tuesday, October
16, 2018 at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls. A Cel-
ebration of Life was held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2018 in
the East Sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Wichita Falls with Pas-
tor Grant Bowles, officiatied. Arrangements were under the direction of
Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
Larry was born on October 1, 1948 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma to the late Henry and
Nancy ( Jones) Cantwell. He was a graduate of Elmore City High School and went on to
enlist in the United States Army, serving for a tour in Vietnam. On November 4, 1966, he
married the love of his life, Connie Hudson. Together they had three children, Shellie, Lau-
ra, and Tobie. Larry was a member of First Baptist Church in Sanger. He retired from the
oil field after 47 years. Larry enjoyed playing golf, and was an avid OU Sooners fan.
Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Tobie; two
brothers, Harold and Jack; and his sister, Darlene.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Connie Cantwell; his daughters, Shellie
Cantwell Damron, and Lau-
ra Cantwell Anderson and
husband Joey; his sister, Sue
Hawk; his brother, Travis
Cantwell; five granddaugh-
ters, Tobi, Randi, Alex, Cori,
and Reilly; his grandson, Con-
nor; and numerous nieces,
nephews, family and friends.
