In preparation for the na-
tional celebration of the Future
Nurses Clubs Day oceuring in
May, the Future Nurses-Club
of the Burleson High School,
acc6mpanied by their sponsor,
Mrs Theodocia Chipman, school
nurse, visited Harris Hospital
on April 2, and were conduct-
ed. on a directed tour covering
all services and facilities of the
hospital.
May, 1W64 has been designat-
ed as the second national Fu-
ture Nurses Clubs Month, hon-
oring the 135,000 members of
1,500 future nurses and other 3
health careers clubs across the 1
country. Special school assent- 1
biles, tours of schools of nurs- J
ing, "open house" parties in
hospital, displays in schools,
libraries, and department stores
and radio and television pro-
grams are among the ways in
which clubs are observing the
month and to tell the story of
education and career oppor-
tunities in nursing.
Burleson club members are
exploring the four educational
routes of nursing — associate
degrees, baccalaureate degree, j
diploma, and practical nursing
programs—and the career op-
portunities to which they lead.
A large number of clubs de-
vote parts of their program to
other health careers as well.
