Trylowsky
expounds on
charity goals
Kiwanis heard a report from
Uliana Trylowsky, executive
director of Habitat for Humanity
in Beaumont on Oct. 25, at the
Silsbee Country Club.
Trylowsky explained that
Beaumont Habitat for Humanity
is a Christian based, ecumenical
non-profit organization whose
mission is to eliminate poverty
housing. They achieve this by
building modest affordable
homes together with motivated
partner families who can not
afford conventional or govern-
ment backed mortgages.
Founded in 1979 Beaumont
Habitat for Humanity has built
and sold 45 houses to many area
families. 42 of these homes came
through hurricane Rita with very
little or no damage.
In 2006 Beaumont Habitat for
Humanity joined the Operation
Home Delivery program created
by Habitat International in
response to the hurricanes that
ravaged the Gulf Coast this past
summer.
Through this program
Beaumont Habitat for Humanity
is building 30 Habitat houses in
Beaumont in 2006 and another
20 in Port Arthur in 2007.
Many volunteers both for
weekday and Saturday building
are needed.
To register as a volunteer
please call (409) 832-5853 or

tat.org.
