by his side on Sunday, Feb. 21 at the age of 80.
He was born in La Grange on July 31, 1935
to Herman and Erna (Holz) Citzler. He married
his high school sweetheart, Margaret Jilek, on
Oct. 22, 1955 in Schulenburg. That same year,
he went to work for Magnolia Oil Co. (Mobil
Oil). They had two children, a son, Mark born in
1957, and daughter, Carol in 1960. His job took
him and his family from New Mexico to Florida,
working on seismic and exploration crews on
land and in the Gulf of Mexico. In 1969, they
settled in Irving, when he transferred to the Exploration & Production Services
lab of the company, located in Dallas. After 37 years of dedication to Mobil,
he retired in 1992. He and Margaret enjoyed many years of retirement together
with their annual trips to Creede, Colo. In 2003, they moved to Canyon Lake. He
enjoyed barbecuing for family and friends and was renowned for his home-
made sausage. He loved being outdoors and spent many hours meticulously
maintaining his yard and vegetable gardens. He was a loving husband and
father and will be greatly missed.
Clint is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margaret; his son, Mark Citzler and
wife Kaye of Flower Mound; his daughter, Carol Parrish and husband Michael
of New Willard; his sister, LaVerne Prilop of San Antonio; his brother-in-law,
James Jilek; sisters-in-law, Sister Joyce Jilek and Shirley Pavlik; numerous
nieces and nephews; and his devoted cat, Sam.
Clint was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Evelyn Kaase.
Visitation with the family was held on Wednesday, Feb. 24 from 4 to 6 p.m.
at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in Canyon Lake, with a prayer service at 5
p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
