There were over 75 present
at the Owen Family Reunion
Sunday at the Mansfield Com-

dinner and spent the afternoon
looking at kodak picture books
and clippings and meeting rela-
tives from far and wide. There
was a real “Singing” for an

and a relative at the piano.
There was an election before
they adjourned until next Aug.
Billy Owen was elected preai-,
dent, replacing Jo Smith. Sec-
retary was Dorris Pratt replac-
ing Marlyn Brown.
The Reunion idea started
with Royce Helmick of Mans-
field and he arranged the meet-
ing at the Mansfield Communi-
ty Hall. Since his mother was a
Owen, it seemed that the Owens
gradually predominated. The
Owen family started with Wil-
liam A. Owen (no S) of Pulas-
ki, Tenn. He came to Texas and
had 13 children. Two are still
living, namely C. M. Owen of
Olton, Tex. He recently cele-
brated his 60th wedding anni-
versary, according to the Olton
paper. His brother Clarence P.
Owen of Everman, now 88
years. C. M. Owen could not at-
tend but his brother Clarence
was there with his wife Stella,
whose picture was recently in
the paper as was Miss Stella
Loe who taught in Prairie
Grove School back in 1908.
