An urgent appeal to all ex-students
and their families of Joshua to make
plans to attend the Ex-Student Home
Coming on June 20, has been made
by the sponsors. A special appeal
goes to those who attended classes
of years 1912 thru 1920, however
everyone is welcome. At the last
homecoming on May 18, 1957, and by
a unanimous decision, it was decided
to hold the home-coming every two
years.
The last event drew a good number
of ex-students, though this year it
is hoped will bring many more, and
it is assured that everyone will have
the time of their life.

To those living away from this
community, you are asked to plan
now to attend, and do so by sending
in your reservation, along with $1.25
to Weymon H. Gilpin, 222 Canavan
Avenue, San Antonio, Texas. I am
sure your desire to take part in this
home-coming will be greatly increas-
ed when you learn that you will be
contributing to the Methodist
Women’s greafcg?ffort to build the
New Methodisf Rlhurch in Joshua this
summer.
Registration will start at 5:30 p.m.
in the school gym, with dinner being
served by the Methodist Women’s
Society at 7 p.m. Various forms of
entertainment are planned, including
the bulletin board that created so
much fun and enjoyment in 1957.
Everyone is urged to bring or send
any old pictures that you have of
your school days, or any article that
you may have saved. You may pick
them up before you leave.

In Home Mishap
Mrs. Edward Tarver was seriously
burned last Sunday evening about
9 p.m. in her home east of Burleson
on the old Alvarado Highway, when
an accumulation of gas in a hallway
exploded as she entered. She is re-
ported to have been badly burned
from the waist down, and Wednesday
was reported by neighbors to still be
in the hospital in serious condition.
A sister of Mr. Tarver, Mrs. Chas.
Magby, who was in the home at the
time helped put the flames out by
wrapping a bedspread around Mrs,
Tarver and beating out the flames.
Mrs. Magby received burns on both
hands, and was treated at the hos-
pital and released.
Mr. and Mrs. Tarver have two
3l/2 years and 1 year.
