SUTTON For
Place 7
School Board
There are many areas of
need in the Burleson school
system; concern for these needs
and a desire to help in the con-
tinued improvement of our
schools have brought me to the
decision to place myself as a
candidate for the Board of
Trustees. My opponent for
place seven has been a dili-
gent and faithful Trustee and
my campaign is not against him
but for improvement in the
following areas: bus safety;
lunch program; building main-
tenance, upkeep and cleanli-
ness; controlled traffic access
to schools; playground and ath-
eletic facilities; gym seating
and auditorium facilities; ex-
pansion of the music and arts
department at all levels; pave-
ment of parking lots. These
things can and must be accom-
plished if we are to be a com-
munity proud of our school
system. You and I are respon-
sible, however, and I call on
you to be concerned that your
students do not have a track
fit |o run on; that there isn’t
a facility in any part bf the
system where the students can
be assembled and seated for a
program of any type; that there
is not an adequate stage fa-
cility in the entire community;
that we have “open campus” at
the high school not by choice
but for lack of space; that we
have no hot lunch program at
the junior and senior high levels;
because it is more convenient
to have vending machines that
are more costly to you and me,
