W. B. Redfearn received word
early Sunday morning of the pass-
ing of hie brother, Luther Red-
fearn in a Pittsburg hospital at
9 p.m. Saturday. Mr. Redfearn
lived in the White Oak community
where he has spent most of his
81 years.
Mrs. Lona Huckeba spent sev-
eral days in Dallas this week with
her daughter, Mrs. Howard Bod-
die and family.
Mr. and Mrs.* Beck Cates and
son, Gerald of Rock Hill spent
Saturday with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Oscar Shurtleff. Mr.
Shurtleff has been sick the last
week, but is better at this writ-
ing.
The Alathlan Sunday School
Class had their Christmas tree
and social Friday afternoon in the
Baptist Church. A nice program
was rendered. Mrs. Leslie Narra-
more gave the “Llttlest Angel" as
the Christmas story.
Refreshments of applesauce
cake, hot chocolate and coffee was
served.
Gifts were distributed from a
beautifully decorated tree.
Mrs. Willie Allen carried Rev.
and Mrs. W. D. Hollingsworth to
Linden last Thursday to visit her

joyed, and gifts were exchanged.
After the gifts were opened, every-
one was Invited into the church
dining room where angel squares,
decorated with cherries and green
candy leaves, and punch was serv-
ed.
