McAULEY to Big “D” one day

It is understood that someone
sent County Treasurer CLOVIS
LAWRENCE an advance Christ-
mas present, a book entitled
“HOW TO MAKE LOVE”. County
Attorney LEONARD PASSMORE
says it is too advanced for CLOVIS
and hopes to talk him out of it.
We wonder what DR. GEO. PEE-
PLES will have to say about this,
that if) after LEONARD gets the
book.
Judge SAM WILLIAMS was
here Thursday and disposed of
two civil cases in District Court.
The big question at the Court
House this week is: Who has the
large supply of FIRE CRACK-
ERS? Last reports indicate that
no will admit having even one. It
is rumored however that some in-
di'.iuual slipped one in a hip poc-
ket at the Rotary meeting last
Friday.
Leave it up to JOHN BEASLEY
to make Christmas a little bright-
er for some people, for as we
know sometimes we forget to put
enough postage on out cards and
letters and as a result the post-
office force has to discard them.
But JOHNNIE came up with 75
one cent stamps and gave them
to POSTMASTER NELSON with
instructions tor him to use them
on, cards add liters t£at needed
more postaget£at* they would
get to their destination, and make
someone happy at Christmas time.
As COA0H CAMPBELL was
heading toward the post office
with a handful of Christmas cards
to be mailed, he was hailed by
a few of ihis girl students, who
said, “Gee Coach, I wish I had
that many boy friends”, to send
Christmas cards to.
