Notes

Part of a collection of 6000 photos, negatives, and ROTC memorabilia donated by the photographer to Moffett Library in 1999.

Sam Rayburn was a democratic politician, serving as a member of the Texas House of Representatives from the 34th district from 1907-1913. He would then serve as a member of the United States House of Representatives from Texas' 4th district from 1913-1961. He served as Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1955-1961.

Harry S. Truman served as U.S. Senator of Missouri from 1935-1945. He served as Vice President of the United States from January 20, 1945-April 12, 1945. Upon the death of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, Truman served as President of the United States till 1953.

Lyndon B. Johnson served as U.S. Representative from Texas' 10th district from 1937-1949. Johnson served as U.S. Senator from Texas from 1949-1961. He served as Vice President of the United States from 1961- November 22, 1963, after John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas. Upon Kennedy's death, Johnson became President of the United States, serving until 1969.

Pulitzer Prize nominee Jim Cochran was the chief photographer for the Wichita Falls Times. He left his 6,000-item collection of photos and negatives to his alma mater, Midwestern State University.
