I PLEDGE:
1. Honflity, fairness and an efficient administration. I will sat an axampla for
my daputifls to follow.
2. My word Is my bond.
3. Leadership in a working sheriff’s dept., working In harmony with local,
state and federal officers.
4. Patrol ALL rural areas In marked cars and In uniforms. By petroling rural
areas at night, I believe crime will bo stopped before it occurs.
5. No illegal massage parlors, organised gambling
permitted to operate in Denton County. We will'
pants daily, if necessary, until they are closed.
6. We will constantly strive to moke Denton County a popular place for law-
abiding citizens . . . and ... an un-popular place for tnleves, hoodlums, bur-
glars, murderers and rapists, who too often use our county for a place to car-
ry on their various crimes.
7. If you honor mo with this office, I will honor your telephone call. Wo will not
tolerate our deputies not making on investigation of all calls to the sheriff's
department.

Care Inn Has New Administrator
Care Inn Nursing Home at
Sanger has named Dyanne
Howard as the new
administrator lor the home.
Dyanne is well known at
Care Inn. She has served as
assistant administrator at
the home for two years and
before that was employed at
the home for six years as an
aide, in the clinic and as a
secretary.
She attended school at the
University of Texas at
Austin where she received
her license as nursing home*
administrator.
During the two years as
assistant administrator at
the home, she also served as
s<Hial director of the
activities and recreational
program.
She is
energetic
enjoys
field’.
Care Inn is one of 80 homes
owned by National Living
Center of Houston.
Care Inn of Sanger is small
enough to give individual
care, yet large enough to
provide adequate nursing
care and daily recreational
activities for the residents.
The residents of the home
enjoy haveing young people
around and Ms. Howard
says more and more young
people are entering this
particular field of service.
Residents at the home are
encouraged to voice their
opinions and air their
feelings about procedures
and activities in the home
and the staff has an
"awareness" program in
operation in which the
residents are reminded daily
of the weather, the time,
anything that keeps them in
touch with reality.
Residents at the home have
formed a Residence Council.
They discuss their likes,
dislikes and problems. They
are permitted to make
decisions in solving their
problems.
Residents at the home are
treated like people by a staff
and young administrator
who care.
Ms. Howard says, "That’s
what Care Inn is all about.

No Amateurs
At Ashcraft
Garage
There are no amateurs at
Joe Ashcraft’s Garage, only
experienced, well trained
mechanics and body men.
Joe and his son, Jerry have
many years of experience
and training and the shop
located on the corner of
Fifth and Bolivar in Sanger
is one of t he most completely
equipped in the area.
The Ashcrafts stress pre
ventative maintenance on
any vehicle will improve the
serviceability and provide
longer engine life.
However, if your auto
mobile or truck does break
down, Ashcraft’s Garage is
as near as the nearest
telephone. They operate a 24
hour wrecker service and a
call to 458 7414 will bring
Joe or Jerry on the double.
Joe’s other son, James, a
sophomore at Sanger High
School also helps out in the
garage and is learning
more about engines through
experience, 4 II work and
vocational ag work. Mrs.
Ashcraft takes care of the
book work and is the
"runner". That is, she “runs"
after parts that are needed
and not in stock.
